MY NEW ART BLOG HERE I would love your company.

A New Year and a New beginning... I have created a new blog filled with old and new art. It is time for me to focus on something new. I will be leaving this blog open for inspiration and so I can look back at what I have achieved in the future but I will be adding no further content here.

Pretty in Pink

Okey dokey I promised to share more of my painting that I've been doing over the last weeks and although there has been lots of trial and error and lots of paintings that I am not over impressed with .... this is my favouritest one of all.

I am not one to blow my own trumpet BUT I can't beeeeelieve that I drew and painted this.... each time I look at it it makes me feel all warm inside (and to be honest I get a bit choked up  too cos I feel like I am finally realizing something inside me that I thought just wasn't there).

I think that no matter what I draw and paint in future... my pretty little girl will ALWAYS be my favourite...  she created a moment of awakening and I love her for it :D
Thanks for looking

Face-journal pages

Ohhhhh I AM a happy bunny.... I've been having soooo much fun doing Tam's...  Art, Heart and Healing free course.  I have learned so much in just one short week and found a new passion.  I've always wanted to be able to paint faces properly (you may remember some of my first attempts from previous blog posts weren't anything to write home about though lol)

This is my first attempt at painting one...with instructions from the course... and using watercolour crayons (which I think are amazing).  The pages aren't complete... I have stamping and words to add but I ended up continuing to paint more faces so got a bit sidetracked. (I will share the others with you later).

The face is supposed to be me... well I know I look older ha ha ha.... but hey I feel this young inside so I guess it is me in a sense :D
I've just come home after a couple of lovely weeks with friends so will catch up with you all as soon as I can :D

Mixed Media dress

Do I like getting messy... you betcha... the messier the better... it's the cleaning up I don't like.  I haven't taken part in Margarets Dress it up challenge for ages... despite the best laid plans... I get sooooo sidetracked :D  There are just sooooo many things I want to do and try that there just aren't enough hours in the day!!

I love sloshing paint around and made a background using acrylic paint... pva glue... watercolour paint and inks. Placing the colour randomly on the sheet along with the glue.  Then I bubbled it with a heat gun... it's really cool doing that... magic before your eyes... just love the texture it creates.  I then just cut out the dress shape from the piece I painted and shaped it a little so it didn't look flat.

I just adore Autumn colours so I think this is gonna be one of my most favourite of the dresses I've done :D
To see the other dresses for October go here.
Hope you are having a good weekend.

Top Hat Zentangle doodle

When I get my teeth into something I just can't let go... so carried on and did another doodle yesterday (so much for doing some stamping...lol).  I do forget how much I like to draw until I get started but then I get so involved in it that I can't get anything else done.  So I am knocking myself on the head today and demanding that I put the pen down and get something done in the house and then maybe some 'proper' papercrafting :D

I went for a gentlemanly theme with this one just because I started a squiggle on paper and it looked a bit like a top hat... so electric light moment happened and I decided to have a go at a proper shape.  It was soooo much fun!!

Hope to visit you all today now that I have put my pen down...so see you soon :D

Zentangled doodling....

is my latest obsession... it's a bit like painting with shapes.  Totally absorbing once you get started and can be as easy or as intricate as you wish to make it.   It's easy to put aside and go back to so I think I am going to have a few on the go at once till my interest fades (fickle as I am...lol)

I love to doodle within shapes and I think it looks lovely in circles so did two... but as always I got a bit carried away and moved on to do....

a fantasy girl :D   All the shapes are still there but formed around her face with a few additional flowers.

The photo I took wasn't good  and I was too lazy to scan this one yet so I added some colour in Photoshop to jazz  the photo up a bit... but I promise you the original WAS hand drawn...lol

Halloween watercolour painting

Sings.... "I'm so excited and I just can't hide it... la la la la la...la la la la la la"   Do you ever find something in your stash that you put away cos you didn't think it would be up to much... even though you bought it in the first place???.  Well I wanted to take  part in the Willowing Halloween challenge and was looking for something to paint with when I came across some cheap as chips watercolour pencils from Tesco in my stash... I only bought them cos I wanted to alter the box...lol...but I decided to have a go with them and whoooohooopetty whooo I bloomin'love them!!  They are fab.  A box of 12 recycled water colour pencils for about 4 quid (I think that's what I paid) and the colours are lovely.

So I dug out a flat canvas and painted my Halloween witch :D  Now i know I'm not the best painter in the world ( practice will make perfect eh) but I really enjoyed doing this and that's all that matters isn't it.  I think those pencils are going to get a hammering over the next few weeks... better see if they have any more in Tesco next time I shop :-D

Have you ever felt....

......that you could eat and eat and never be full!!  Today that's all I want to do... no sooner have I eaten something than I want something else.  I am still trying to lose weight so this is NOT good...lol ...is it my body or brains' way of telling me that my fat stores are being depleted and need re-filling or is it just downright greed.  I honestly don't know but at this rate I will be shopping for food tomorrow or looking for a bolt for the fridge!!
So onto crafty stuff to take my mind of eating.  A tag using lots of yummy distress inks and a paint dabber with a Tim Holtz crown stencil.

This gorgeous girlie and butterfly are from Crafty Individuals... she so deserves those wings with that cute look on her face :D

The gold German scrap I altered by covering with Black Stazon and then wiping it off again... tis magic how it turns silver...so coool
Hope you are having a fun weekend

Anyone who knows me.....

Please share this with anyone you know who needs a helping hand or could benefit from a little self love and discovery :-D
