A New Year and a New beginning... I have created a new blog filled with old and new art. It is time for me to focus on something new. I will be leaving this blog open for inspiration and so I can look back at what I have achieved in the future but I will be adding no further content here.

Polka dot tea party.....

is the theme over at the Shabby Tea Room and this is the photo inspiration for the challenge this week .  The challenge is for a project using either tea or tea party theme... or polka dots... or both.  Well I'm last minute Annie but I managed in the end :D
I've got my 3D head on (bit like Worzel Gummidge...remember him...lol) change heads depending on which way my mojo is going :D
So I got out the tea pot ready to pour.... 'cept I filled mine with hot chocolate....Mmmmmmm

Got my cup and saucer ready... bit posh having a saucer but need to catch the drips!!

Filled my cup and swirled a bit of cream with my spoon... well you just have to don't you....

but I wasn't satisfied with that....so reached for the squirty cream as well and dusted it with some chocolate powder (real chocolate powder...heh heh)........

and there's no point in having a tea party without cake eh.....

So my tea tray was filled to overflowing and if you would like to join me.... all you have to decide is....

with cream....or without :D

Sorry I haven't managed to leave comments for anyone this week but I have just come home.  I have been spending a few days with my pal Chriss who needed a bit of moral support so my recent posts have been timed in advance.
I hope to catch up with you all over the next few days :D

Hope you are having a fab Bank Holiday weekend.

Butterfly pendant

oops this pendant was meant for the Sir Stampalot Blossoms and Butterflies challenge too but I forgot to add it to yesterdays post duh!!   Forget me head if it wasn't fastened on....can you just imagine me leaving it on a table somewhere and having to go back to pick it up....rofl.
Anyways I had lots of fun with this pendant and I think it turned out pretty cute.  I used alcohol inks on a chipboard blank before adding a handmade felt flower....

I also added shiny stuff in the form of sequins and seed beads which I sewed on... oooooer me and a needle and thread.............d a n g e r o u s combination!!  Managed not to prick me fingers and bleed all over for a change though.  How clever am I.
The stamped butterflies are Crafty Individuals...stamped with distress ink... Oh come on you just knew I had to right :D

Sir Stampalot challeng - Blossoms and Butterflies

This is the first ever easel card I have made.... I have seen soooo many around blogland but put off making one myself but when I came across these gorgeous Basicgrey papers  in my stash I just new I had to use them to make one.  This months Sir Stampalot challenge with the theme Blossoms and Butterflies just screamed out to me to so here is my entry.

I used another chipboard frame like yesterdays... but this one is obviously a lot smaller and I left this one white, the texture of the white coating is so smooth it looks just as lovely without any inking i think.

I framed another lady image stamped from Crafty Individuals ladies collection onto Papermania paper and stamped some lovely cute butterflies also from Crafty Individuals to adorn my card.

The flowers were cut from sections of the background paper and layered up (am in 3d mode again...have you noticed... so sick of working on flat things....lol ...
just wait to see what I've got in store for the next few weeks!!)

My most favourite part of the paper was this amazing red (my favourite colour...oooooooh) and pink flower.  It's just a gorgeous size and makes a statement just on it's own eh!!  I finished off with a sentiment stamp and another butterfly before edging the whole thing with.... wait for it............... rofl........ distress ink :D

Rose frame

My newest purchase is a sheet of these chipboard frames from Crafty Individuals and they are so adorable and adaptable.  I couldn't wait to get one or two inked up when they arrived although they are white coated so look beautiful enough without any inking.

I've also been playing with air dry clay and managed to make me this pretty rose which I coloured with Red Brick distress ink.  I love the fact that the same distress ink used on different surfaces takes on a whole new look and colour depending on how porous the surface is.

I added a wee bit of ribbon and these gorgeous pink pearly things that my pal Chriss gave me ages ago... they are so pretty.  The lady image is from Crafty Individuals stamped onto Papermania paper.

Thanks for looking

Butterfly lady

I had a bit of a doodle on this one.  I found my silver ink pen which I haven't use in months and it's such a shame that the scan doesn't show how sparkly it looks in real life.  Tis really bright and lovely.
The images again are from Narry at Etsy and the stamp is Papermania.  Colour added with distress inks and a bit of collage with the images and butterfly on her face.
Have a fun day

Time thrinchie

I used Distress inks again on a canvas thrinchie.  I've also got a thing about clocks and time at the moment and my stamps from The Artistic Stamper are having a revival.  They are just so adaptable.
I added glossy accents to the clock centre and also on the earing on the lady image which is another from Narry at Etsy.

Mirror magnet

Another of the mini mirror magnets that I purchased from the range.  Stamped with a lace background stamp from The Artistic stamper using Stazon.  If you look carefully you can see me behind the stamped image taking the photo...lol
The lady in the middle is an inchie image from Narry at Etsy.

Queen atc

The new images from Lisa's altered art make it amazingly easy to create beautiful  art.  I think the new Paris backgrounds and images are totally gorgeous and couldn't wait to use them.

A little bit of decoupage made it touchy feely and I think she looks royal with her fab crown :D

See you soon

Tarzan and Jane.

Hands up those of you who used to watch Tarzan as a kid... he was my hero... whichever actor played him :D  I used to be amazed at how he could fight crocodiles and lions and fly through the trees..ha ha  the gullibility of childhood.  I was convinced it was REAL!!!

He always got his Jane too... she looks scared to death... but Tarzan will always protect her ha ha

She reminds me of.....

Marie Antoinette.... don't know if that's who she is but I think she looks really elegant.  Her 'beauty spot' is a corker though don't you think.  What women do for fashion...lol

Background and lady images are from Lisa's altered art.

Red sky at night

Love this fab stamp from Crafty Individuals, so much detail and I am looking forward to using it more.  I used Distress inks for the sky... my addiction is definitely not waning.

I had a little accident so hand drew the birds to cover it up... I seem to always get covered in ink whatever I do and however careful I am so little accidents happen regularly when I put my ink stained fingers where I shouldn't...lol
Have a great day

Sunday Stamper challenge - red

Well I'm in a right pickle today... my hard drive it seems is failing and.either needs repairing or replacing!!!!  A message popped up on my laptop to tell me to backup everything before my hard drive fails... I could have cried especially as I only bought a new hard drive a couple of months ago.  I just can't bl**dy believe it (pardon me french).  Thankfully I have my old faithful but it is so slow you can eat a bag of crisps while you wait for the next page to load so forgive me if I don't get round to visit you as much.  Thankfully I can upload some crafty bits and  they will post automatically over the next few days until I sort out what I can do.... and get in touch with who I bought the hard drive off with a few carefully chosen words :(
Anyway on to happier things and my crafty bit for this weeks Sunday Stamper challenge where the theme is 'RED'   oooooh tis my favourite colour of all time and I would dress in it from head to toe if only I wouldn't end up looking like a post box...lol

I love this adorable stamp from Paperartsy especially the cute little door which I added glossy accents to cos I adore the dimension and shine it gives.  Just adds that little bit of special to something flat :D

Pretty in Pink

Well I hope you are all having a good weekend... I've spent most of it with my Grandson and for a change we have been crafting together.  It's ages since we did that cos he keeps telling me he is getting too old for it... where does that leave me then...lol  We've been playing with some air dry clay and it was great... but gotta save showing you what we've done for another day cos it's not dry yet :D

So today I am sharing this piece of art created with a background image from Narry at Etsy.  I added the cage dress cut from an image by Lisa's Altered art.  The background was stamped with stamps from Papermania signature range after adding more colour with my distress inks.  Love the way this one turned out so may end up putting it in a frame for my art wall.

Quick post cos I've heaps to do... thanks for looking.

Alice Alice....

wind your neck in Alice...rofl   As soon as I saw this image of Alice in Wonderland I burst out laughing cos all I could think about was the saying "Wind your neck in" I don't know whether it's just a Northern saying but I've heard it so often as a warning to kids to stop being cheeky or boisterous or both :D
I think this image is so much fun and I certainly had a great time playing with it.  Different colours just made an amazing difference... the same girl but two different looks... don't know which I like the best.
The image and lots more from Alice in Wonderland and other childrens' stories can be found free at Grandma's Graphics (isn't that a fab name for a website) ready for you to print out and use in your crafting.  You won't be disappointed so do go have a look.

Inchie fridge magnet

We all love to play with paper but sometimes there's more fun to be had by getting out the sloppy stuff and getting all messed up :D  When I'm decorating I end up with more paint on me than on the walls and when I'm crafting with paint I end up the same.  I 'm a serial handwiper on trousers kinda gal... which is why my wardrobe keeps diminishing..lol
I played with a mini canvas for this piece adding lots of my fave colour red acrylic paint before bubbling it up with my heat gun to add texture.  Love it cos now it's all touchy feely.   The wooden inchie was covered with an inchie image from Narry at Etsy to which I added a wee bit of red brick distress ink.

I finished off by gluing a magnet to the back... quick and easy...and lotsa fun.

Row Row Row your boat....

gently down the stream....la la la la la... are you singing yet.  Bet that song is gonna go round and round in your head today and you are going to be cussing me for putting it there....lol
I don't know that these two cuties from Lisa's altered art are going to be ...rowing gently down the stream la la la la la.... cos their boat is made of paper!!

and not only that.... it's got holes in it....ooooer

but hey if the stream's not too deep maybe they can have a paddle instead cos it doesn't look like they've got a pan to bail out the water :D

Mona... my Mona....

did I tell you that my Mona is my favourite lady to stamp... did I ... did I... I'm sure I did...lol
Oh but she is so versatile and she just loves being dressed up and I'm sure that one day soon she is going to open up and have a rip roaring giggle and show us her pearly whites.  Well she has to if she wants to be in my gang cos laughing is good for the soul :D

I'm not the only one who loves my new distress inks... Mona does too (she told me so...lol)

She also loves her hat and being surrounded by flowers... cool gal Mona is.
Collaged images are from Lisa's altered art.
Have a great day

Dream atc

I forgot about this atc that I did a while ago and wanted to share cos I love it.  The background is created with alcohol inks (which I haven't played with for a g e s ooooer)

The stamps are from Crafty Individuals.  The tree is stamped directly onto the background but the horse and girl are just part of a stamp which I stamped onto white paper before cutting out and glueing on top.  The word is a rub on.
Have a great day.

Alice-rabbit mini canvas

I had to hop on board the Alice in Wonderland craziness that is around at the moment cos of the new movie.  Haven't seen it yet but heard that it is brilliant.  So I decorated a mini canvas (which isn't really cockeyed...just my photography gone wrong again..lol)
The canvas was coated with Spiced marmalade distress ink and the rabbit (which is an online freebie..but don't know where from...sorry) was water coloured with distress inks too.  Think I've developed a SERIOUS addiction!!

Couldn't have him flat....he's too cute for that ...so mounted him onto the canvas with 3d pads.

Chic card

Another card to share today.... I used to make loads but lately have been sidetracked with so many other things... flitting from one crafty addiction to another.  Fickle I am...lol   can't stick with anything for long... must be the Arian in me :D

Used distress inks once again to add colour to this delightful image from Narry at etsy.  I gave this pretty lady a crown and matted onto some gorgeous pink papermania linen paper.

Attitude tag

Okay so I told you I LOVE distress inks did I...lol   Well my lovely buddy Chriss supplied me with some fabby new colours for my birthday a few weeks ago and OMG I couldn't have been happier.  BLISS!!

So of course I had to play with them and decorated this chipboard tag.  The new inks with some new Fabby images from Lisa's altered art with the addition of a couple of stamps and I was in seventh heaven

Had to add glossy accents to her face but unfortunately it didn't photograph well so you can't see the 3d effect.  I still love it though :D
Have a great day

Fridge magnet card

On a little shopping trip to The Range with my pal Chriss last week I found some mini mirror frame magnets and thought they would be fun to alter.  I had a few thank you cards to make so decided to add one of the magnets to this card so that the gift could be used after the card was finished with.
I inserted an inchie image inside the mirror frame and sponged stazon ink through some sequin scrap to decorate the mirrored surface itself.  Topped it off with a hand cut butterfly coated with diamond glaze before adding it to the card.

loving text paper and the fabby brown linen paper from Papermania new collection. Edged with distress ink... well it just had to be didn't it.  They are never far from my hands while crafting these days... love love love them.... did I tell ya I love distress ink...lol

Manic... Manic... Manic...

few days I've had ... with my Grandson, Sister and two nieces staying with me.  Don't know where the time goes but my poor blog has suffered...lol  So all by myself once again which gives me the chance to do some crafting and catch up with you all.
One of my favourite actresses of all time is Audrey Hepburn... she is so elegant and thanks to a gorgeous image from Narry at Etsy she now has pride of place on an easel in my room :D

I added more colour to the already beautiful image with distress inks and put on some half pearls cos I love things to be touchy feely.

I also gave her a butterfly in her hair and decoupaged the bird with it's crown cos I also love 3d bits and pieces... like you don't know that right :D

I was a very lucky girl to win Patty's fabulous giveaway from her guest spot on the Artist trading club blog and oh what a delightful array of goodies she sent me (see below).  Thank you sooooo much Patty xx

I also received this gorgeous brooch as a RAK from Rosie... isn't it just so lovely.  Thank you Rosie... you made my day xx

Blogging buddies are just THE BEST!!
