ICSketches#3

Hi all... my apologies first of all for not managing to visit you all over the weekend as I had hoped to do... unfortunately sometimes life gets in the way and at the moment I have some 'stuff' going on and I have decided that it would be better if I take a break from blogging for a couple of weeks until I manage to sort everything out.

So that in mind this will be my last 'proper' post for a while... although I have sorted out some digi freebie kits and some mini card making kits for you to download if you want them and have postdated the posts so there will still be a few goodies for you to see and grab while I am away :D

Before I disappear I wanted to share this with you though.... I should have put it up last week but well...it just didn't happen. This was my card for Dawn's ICSketch#3 challenge there is another sketch up now so if you love sketches pop over and see all the gorgeous DT cards for some inspiration and maybe join in yourself.
Once again the paper and stamps I used are by Crafty Individuals I love this pretty lady 'with love' stamp and you just know I adore wings.
I created her 'tiara' with a corner stamp... cut out and mounted on a 3d pad with a little bit of bling added too and paper pieced her dress and wings.

The purple border is an elegant lace effect stamp and the bottom edging was created with a Fiskars border punch.
Thanks for looking and for continuing to visit and leaving me your lovely comments. I will be back as soon as I can and will look forward to it.
HUGE HUGS

Snow!! and Artygirlz challenge#72-flowers

It came and it went... leaving behind mucky slush....uuuurgh So pretty to look at... could have been Christmas all over again ('cept there was no turkey dinner or bonny coloured pressies to open) ...
and just look at my baby shivering out there in the cold :D This was the reason for no shopping... no way was I cleaning all that away and this was just after an hour... those flakes were enormous!!
Didn't seem to be deterring our feathered friends though... they seemed to be delighted to perch on top of the trees... don't they look cute.

So this morning all is well with the world... sun is shining... body has fought off the bugs and I'm looking forward to spending the weekend with DG... he totally puts the L in Love for me. Can't wait to give him a big squishy cuddle and steal a few kisses (do have to steal them though...cos it's not cool to give away kisses at his age!!...lol)
So onto this weeks Artygirlz challenge which is flowers. I was asked by my Sister to decorate a blackboard (similar to one I've done before for my other Sister's 40th)... as a gift for her friend at work.
I painted the blackboard and mounted it on paper covered board before adding the decoration.

I did a digital doll of my Sister's friend with a photo she sent me (butterfly for anonymity)... then paper pieced the skirt before mounting it all on card and cutting out.
Flowers came next... crumpled paper ones and prima flowers with buttons and bling...

then a ribbon hanger and some lettering... all papers are Heidi Grace. The blackboard came with a box of chalks and an eraser so of course I had to decorate those too...

just using some more paper with a few hearts and hand cut small letters.
Ok folks that's it for today... phew you glad to get to the end...lol
Hope to get round to visit you all over the weekend now that I'm feeling better... till then have a fab weekend and hope the sun is shining where you are :D

Tag your it challenge week 44-sketch

Wow I slept for England last night and it seems to have shot the bugs into submission...lol I gave in and went for a 'nap' at 6pm and woke at 10.30pm... I went back to bed at 1am and slept 'till 9.30 this morning and it must have been a fabby sleep cos I woke myself up LAUGHING!!! Can't remember dreaming but if I was it must've been cool :D

There are big fluffy flakes of soft snow falling outside right now and in under an hour we've got quite a covering of the white stuff... so while it seemed like we were going to escape the worst weather... if it continues like this we will be snowed in by teatime.

I had planned to go and get some ink for my printer today but well you know I hate the cold so I may just have to put it off 'till another day and do some crafting instead... no hardship there then eh :D

This weeks Tag challenge is using a sketch by my lovely blogging buddy Kath and just for a change I thought I'd indulge in a bit of stamping and collage.

The paper, images and stamps are all from Crafty individuals except the main sentiment on the tag which is hero arts...I think. Pop over and check out Crafty individuals collection of fab images, stamps and other goodies... I promise you, you won't be disappointed.

I wanted some extras on this tag so I stamped some words and inked some string before cutting out the shapes and attaching to my tag. I especially love the key stamp which when cut out looks like a real little key on the reverse too... so cute.
Thanks for looking and have a great day all

BasicGrey challenge 21-Lets mix it up

Well I shared almost two days of fabby crafty time with my buddy Chriss although I woke up yesterday morning feeling like I had a London bus sitting on my chest... how come when I am eating healthier than ever before in my effort to get rid of some of the flab... that every germ known to man seems to think that my body is the perfect playground!!

Went to bed last night in my Jammie's AND dressing gown AND socks in an effort to stop the shivering and skin hurty... wrapping myself up like a mummy in the quilt and expecting to get up this morning feeling like I'd been swatted with a ten ton feather.

Instead I feel full of beans (not the ones that fill your belly with wind by the way..lol) although I don't think I'm out of the woods yet cos I'm still a bit achy.

Still I managed a few challenges with Chriss and it's always much easier to craft with two... swapping ideas and having a few giggles along the way and as I've been going to join in with the BasicGrey challenge for a while I started with this card. The challenge was to mix up two different ranges of BasicGrey ranges in your creation.

For the background I used an older line of BasicGrey paper called Phoebe and the arch, curled paper in the foreground and paper used for the flower is from the Archaic collection
The little girl is from Lisa's altered art and the flourishes are a stamp from The Artistic Stamper. I added some lace and ribbon, did some paper curling and sanded edges...
and finished off with this cute little crochet flower with a pearl centre that Chriss gave me... it just added a nice finishing touch... thanks pal :D

Hope everyone is having a fab day and I will be back soon with some more challenge creations.

ICSketches# challenge

Sometimes I LOVE blogger... oh okay love may be too strong a word heh heh but I do love the fact that you can pre time your posts if you are gonna be busy or out or just indulging in a bit of me time :D I don't use it much but as I'm gonna be spending some time with my crafty friend Chriss today trying to pull myself out of the doldrums it's perfect cos I can post before I leave but not too soon after my last offering :D
This is my first time for joining in with Dawn's sketch challenge here and I had to post my cards today cos there will be a new challenge tomorrow... always last minute me...lol
I got to play with some of Chriss's cuttlebug embossing folders last week and I luvs them so I think they may be added to my shopping list pretty soon. I inked the card with my favourite red/brown ink pad and it's cool how the dots stand out. The stamps are from Queen's dresser drawers. I made some paper buttons so I could tie some thread through for a bit more interest.
I also made this quickie card featuring Ellie from here papers from Cosmo Cricket and a bit of additional bling :D I love turning sketches round you get a whole different creation from the same sketch.

Okay that's it from me today
Catch ya later

Artygirlz challenge # 71 Red and White

Well I don't know what's come over me since I last posted but I just haven't been in the mood to do much at all... least of all blogging... so forgive me if I haven't popped by to visit I will see you soon. I'm gonna blame the weather cos it doesn't know whether to snow... or not snow...or snow again if you catch my drift :D I want the sun to shine and the weather to be warm instead of having to have the heating on full blast to stop my derriere (bum to those of you who are common like me...lol) from freezing solid. So on to Artygirlz challenge which is Red and White this week and I thought if I can't have summer outside... I can have summer inside with a layout of my niece using butterflies and of course my favourite colour red which always makes me feel good.....
..... and just because I could I decided to do a little mini digi kit to share with you so that maybe you can feel happy and summery too... I even added a bit of my favourite bling...lol (and I used it to change my header too)
So thanks for popping by and if you like the mini digi kit you can grab the free download here

Have a great day

Digi Layout-blooming

wey hey hey.... looksee at me.... two layouts in no time at all, phew what's happening to me. Mojo's come back properly me thinks and I am sooo enjoying doing some layouts for a change. The new digi downloads from Cen's loft have certainly helped give me a boost and now June has some fab elements to go with all of the colour basics papers. Don't forget to go and get yours you won't want to miss them. This layout of DD is done with all different pieces from the downloads... the only addition is the wet chipboard alpha which is from free digital scrapbooking.
DD is changing all the time and I really love this photo of her... she looks so young sometimes despite being in her late 20's... she even still gets asked for i.d. when she goes out which doesn't always go down too well.... especially when all she is trying to do is buy a bottle of wine from the co-op lol
Have a great day all

Weekend taggers challenge-week 43-purple

I haven't joined in with the tag challenge for a while so I thought I would have a go this week... the theme is purple and crikey it's difficult to tell what's purple in my stash cos there are so many different shades of it... pinky purples, lilacs and blue purples... and there was I thinking I didn't have any purple at all...how wrong can you be. Must have been the sun peeping out from the clouds... melting what's left of the snow and addling me brain at the same time :D
I couldn't just go with purple though as I spied this ribbon that my pal Chriss gave me as a gift a while back and I've been dying to use it on something and I thought it would look pretty on my tag.
The papers are Heidi Grace and the little girl eating the cookie is from Lisa's altered art.... I could sooooo totally steal that cookie off her right now, but I guess looking into those huge eyes I would be kicking myself with guilt as soon as I'd done it...lol
My computer has been playing silly beggars today and it's taken me hours to sort it out... I thought I had a virus cos everything kept shutting down in the middle of doing my stuff and I've been tearing my hair out... and when I'm stressed... I WANNA EAT waaaaaaah!!
It seems to have sorted itself out now after 4 re-starts and a system restore so fingers crossed I will have no more problems for a while. Can't live with them... can't live without them... much the same as your other half eh...lol
See you soon

Artygirlz challenge #70... make an atc... and tagged

This weeks Artygirlz challenge is to make an atc and I chose to mount mine onto this tin I bought... meant to be a cigarette tin I think but it is just the right size to keep all of my 'ready to do' atc cards in and keep them all handy in one place. Stamps are from The Artistic Stamper and The Queens Dresser Drawers.

This is the inside of my tin and it's fab cos it has these little arms to keep my atc's from spilling out before I need them too :D

Speaking of ATC's I think I have now got a serious contender for ATC maker of the week... these ones below were made by DG on a recent visit and I promised to put them on my blog for him.
I was struggling with my mojo so took ages to make even one... to keep DG busy while I did mine, I gave him some pieces of card and some stickers and he had a fab time and made me howl with laughter when he asked me how many I had done... oh says I... "I haven't finished my first one yet!!" He looked at me in sheer surprise and said " What's the matter with you Nanna... just do them... I've done.... wait for it.... 25!! lol I guess next time I will take lessons from HIM eh. Okay I have been tagged again... this time by the lovely talented Sesga

The rules being you show the fourth picture from the fourth file on your computer

Well this is mine taken a mere 8yrs ago with my favourite little man when he was almost a year old and blimey how much I've changed in that short time... my hair has turned white... I can't see close up without my specs and I've put on about 5 stone in weight...aaaaargh (mind you I'm working on that one and so far have lost almost a stone this month....whooohooo). Not touched a piece of choccy since the beginning of Jan!! How good am I :D Hopefully by the summer I will be able to get back into some of my snazzy clothes instead of living in joggers and t-shirts... oh to look glam for just one day without bumps and bulges protruding from every part of me...lol

Ok girlies I tag you.... Mimi, Judy, Gez, Karen, Kim and Dawn (Scrapnmo)
Show us you piccies :D
Have a fab evening all
hugs
