SCD challenge - The letter 'H'

This is my piece for this weeks SCD challenge... the letter H which turned into Imagine House :-)
I used Tim Holtz distress inks on textured card before cutting out my shape... 'tis only about 2" x 3".
I added German Scrap which was altered from gold by covering with black stazon before wiping it off with Kitchen roll.  It magically removes the gold and leaves some black areas for an aged look.  Love this effect.
The 'Imagine' word stamp is by Crafty Individuals and the Lady jigsaw stamp is from Cherry Pie Art stamps.

Of course I had to give my lady some added interest by using my fave glossy accents :D

Thanks for looking.

SCD challenge - The letter 'D'

I often see something I am inspired by and decide I will have a go.... but then put off doing it and forget about what I intended to create.  I saw a video on you tube ages ago... on how to make a Squash book and although I put the pages together I put the incomplete booklet  aside and did nothing with it.  Until today that is...when I came across it quite by accident and decided it should be finished :D

So this is the front page of my Squash book which is about 4inches square and like the rest of the pages was covered in Fired Brick Distress ink...yummy....

topped with a handmade rose smothered in glossy accents (cos I hadn't any stickles left) and some freebie vintage paper from The Vintage Moth and one of my favourite quotes.

The inside of my book was covered with more of the vintage paper and this is where my part in the SCD challenge ... The letter 'D' comes into play with one of my favourite words... DREAM cos where would we be without one :D

The letters are distressed chipboard on inked background.

Thanks for looking...have a great day

Sunday Stamper-week 100-free as a bird-plus MEGA candy

Congratulations to Hels on the 100th Sunday Stamper challenge...whoohoooo.  This weeks theme is 'free as a bird'  which means you can do ANYTHING including things with birds...lol  The challenge is sponsored by The Artistic Stamper and The Stamp Attic so there is a fabby combined prize of £30 to spend on goodies... how cool is that!!

I stamped a Time hanging for my entry and oh boy this should be my Mantra cos there are never enough hours in the day for me :D

I used my new fabby lace stamp as the background for this stunning closed watch   ... love the detail of it...

I stamped this watch face on the back and again to mount on my background and put this image from Lisa's altered art inside...

I finished my hanging with two other stamped watches stamped onto Basicgrey paper.
All stamps are from The Artistic Stamper.

Hels is adding another prize to the fund if she gets 100 comments and is also giving away her artwork for this week which is amazing.  You can also enter as many times as you like and the challenge lasts for two weeks.... so what are you waiting for :D

have a great day

ATC club April swap (Vintage)

This month's ATC club challenge which is Vintage was set by the very talented Patty
Now for a change I have done 5 different ones this month... though the main image ...this pretty girl from Lisa's altered art is the feature on each one.

The background on the first one was a freebie from Altered bits.com and I used SeeD's stamps and Anna Griffin letter stamps for the word.  I've also used Tim Holtz brushed corduroy ink on all of my atc's cos it is just my favourite and suits this theme so beautifully.

The background for the atc above is a freebie from The Vintage Moth...I love this... all those stamps layered together...brilliant.  The Butterfly is from Crafty Individuals.

This delightful background featuring a bird on a branch which I watercoloured is part of a generous freebie from Patty.  I just had to use it on one of my Vintage atc's.

I have been waiting to use this fabby pen background which is a paper from Tim Holtz for ages and it went so well with the book and specs stamp from SeeD's.

Finally my 5th atc which is the one I will keep for my own collection was put together using another free background from The Vintage Moth.... the edges are part stamps from SeeD's vintage collection and I also used sepia accents on the hat.
Thanks for looking

Mona altered candle

I've been going to try transfering an image stamped on tissue onto a candle for ages but never seemed to get around to it.... but when I got my favourite Mona Lisa stamp out the other day ...I just knew where she was going to end up :D

I gave her a crown which was a pressy from my pal Chriss and used Heidi Grace plastic embellishments to decorate the candle along with some half pearls.

I also put some sticky ribbon around the candle to tie in with the colour scheme and add some more decoration.

I've been at my friends'  for a couple of days and was over the moon to come home to this fabby prize that I won from The Artistic Stamper with Hels challenge at Sunday Stamper...whooohoooo thanks Hels it's amazing :D

I also won this cosy hot water bottle and cover which came with this shopper bag from the gorgeous Terrie's blog a while ago and forgot  to share it with you.... Thanks Terrie.... big HUGS xx

It has been my lucky time cos I also won a gift from Patty which I will share with you when it arrives :D

Hope you are having a fabulous weekend.

It's my party....

and I'll cry if I want to.... well I almost did this morning when I thought my laptop had crashed.... thankfully my luvvly pal Chriss got me some much needed advice from her clever son so whooohoooo here I am.  Why do computers rule our lives so much eh :D
Today's artybit is another using stamps and parts of stamps from Crafty Individuals
.

I used my much loved Distress inks once again with stazon for the main image.  I took a close up to show that my lady is 3d but unfortunately it doesn't show up too well.

Now here's your little bit of fun for the day!!  I thought I had well and truly seen the last of these legs rofl but buddy Chriss (luv ya really doll) decided to announce to the world that I am once again a year near the half century... having a Birthday today....aaaaargh

Who knows before long my legs may begin to look like that for real... and oh boy when I begin carrying my handbag like that.... well what can I say...lol

Thanks for popping by

Sunday Stamper challenge-silver

I wanted to use this cute triple frame hanger and my squirl stamp from The Artistic Stamper for this weeks Sunday Stamper challenge.... so I did... cos I could and I used my gorgeous Lake Mist paint dabber to cover the frames....

I wanted to do modern for a change too so I used the stamp three times in stazon on a distress inked background and rotated it for each picture.   Easy peasy but i love the effect.
Ok so I know the question is.... where's the silver.... oooops... it's in the hanging...lol
I know a bit of a cheat but you can't blame a girl for trying :D
Have a great day

You gotta be in it...to win it :D

The template challenge that is... (click on the link to the right).  I've been really lucky lately cos I've won 3 bloggy prizes in the space of three weeks...whooohooo how cool is that... me who never wins anything usually.  So I decided I should give something back... good karma and all that.
So if you enter my little challenge (you've got 2 weeks to do it in) You can win these exclusive stamps designed by moi. (The largest one is approx 5"x3.5") I designed them years ago and did nothing with them so I am gonna share them with you.  They aren't available anywhere else so you will be the only one to have them...cool eh :D
So on to the template challenge and here are a few examples of how you can use them.

I created a fairytale castle with the help of stamps from Crafty Individuals.
A frame picture of Frida Kahlo with a background stamped with part of a flourish from The Artistic Stamper.

The lovely picture was a freebie from Altered bits.com and the little stamp I used inside the windows and doors is a Basicgrey one I think.

Frida can shut the doors on those prying eyes when she feels like a rest...lol
Finally I created an atc with the smaller template using the same flourish stamp as the frame background with distress inks.
I hope that I have inspired you and that you will join in with the challenge.
See you soon

SCD challenge-the letter B

I'm joining in with SCD challenge this week where the letter is 'B'... with my tiny bird on the perch of his tiny birdhouse... 'n' I say tiny cos it's only about 3" tall.  I got it from The Artistic Stamper... it had a hanging loop but I decided to cut it off as I will stand it in my kitchen.

I totally surprised myself by cutting out this wee humming bird TWICE.... my sausage fingers usually make this a mean feat believe me...but I persevered and I think he looks happy on his new perch.

All stamps are by Crafty Individuals... except the letter 'B' which I think is Anna Griffin.
I used Distress and spray inks to colour the images and followed the nature theme round to the back of my birdhouse with trees :D

Now then thanks for looking at my arty piece today and as I promised I have got something a little special to share today so see the post below :D

Template challenge

Now for that something special I mentioned yesterday... I didn't forget. I decided that as I seem to be joining in with lots of challenges of late that I would set one of my own and invite you to join me :D
You have two weeks to join in and all you have to do is use the template I've provided below (I will be using it too).
The page is A4 size so the templates aren't too tiny but you need to click on the image and then right click and save to get the correct size.

I like to alter stuff as you know so I decided to use a template where you can remove windows... open the door... use large or small...  print out onto card, paper or acetate as a digital stamp or if you prefer cut out of thicker card to create a blank canvas to ink up or cover with goodies.  The sky's the limit.

The Rules

  • Use the Template
  • Leave a comment letting me know where your art is
  • Provide a link to this post
  • Be adventurous... There will be a prize for one lucky player .... so go on PLAY :D
  • Have FUN!!
  • That's it :D

Sunday Stamper challenge - Lace

Almost missed the Sunday Stamper challenge this week where the theme is 'Lace' but then remembered I needed to make something for my Sisters'  Birthday.  I don't have any lace stamps so I had to go with the touchy feely stuff :D

It seems like an age since I made a card... blimey it was strange making one yesterday it really was ...cos most of the stuff I have been doing is smaller.  I also decorated a jar to put some choccies in... better than a boring box.

I couldn't resist this digital stamp when I saw it... I howled with laughter.... she is from Mo's digital pencil.  The scroll stamp and letter stamps (on the jar) are from The Artistic Stamper.
I wrote inside the card.... "You can SULK all you want but you will STILL be another year OLDER" lol
Well if you can't have a laugh with Sisters... who can you laugh with and anyway it tickled ME :D

A bit more lace and touchy feely stuff on my jar and I topped it off with a flower made from Basicgrey paper and green distressed inked paper.

Be back tomorrow with something special.

A little bit of digi

I always get great pleasure from playing with digital stuff... sometimes there is a need not to make more mess than you already have and what better way than to turn on the computer and create something where you don't need to get sticky either.
The wonderful digital kits from Lisa's altered art make this such an exciting and easy way of doing things digi style so if you haven't tried digi crafting before pop over and pick up a kit or two and give it a go... you'll be surprised at how easy it is and also how fulfilling :D
The best thing is that once you have completed your artwork you can print it out to make hybrid stuff with your papers and other touchy feely bits of stash.

Wednesday stampers - Trees

Todays piece is for the Wednesday stampers challenge.  I used this fab new funky stamp from Crafty Individuals which says 'meet under the tree for a nice cup of tea'  shame I prefer coffee... but there we go :D
I picked out my chair to sit on and my cup and stamped that part again on a seperate inked piece of card and after cutting out placed it over the original image before adding glossy accents for added dimension.

I think you will be seeing a lot of glossy accents on future crafty bits cos my love for it has been rekindled :D

Stamping with paint.

Oh the paint dabber is getting some hammer...lol   This time I used it to stamp a flower onto my background to act as a resist for the ink... see I am practicing the techniques from my fabby new Tim Holtz book.  Love love love it!!   Love the gorgeous images too which once again are Studio art stamps.
Didn't quite manage to stamp my image properly which is why her boots are a bit pink... well they are unique right... no-one else will have a pair the same and as I AM 'free to be me' I'm allowed to have happy accidents ... or not as is sometimes the case.
I think she still manages to look a thoroughly modern miss :D

Just for a change...

I used paint.  I got me a paint dabber and now I've used it ... I'm hooked... neeeeed lots of colours... well all of them really if I could afford them.

I used some sequin scrap to dab through after applying distress ink to the base of my tag.

This fab image is part of a lovely stamp here designed by the uber talented Hermine isn't he just soooo cute!!
Hope you've had a fun weekend :D

Dress it up April

Once again it's time for Margarets' dress it up challenge...  love doing this... definately takes me back to me childhood.  That's a good thing seeing as I'm 30 plus 18.... sooon to be 30 plus 19 and no that's not my dress size...lol  Well not quite!!
I do so wish I was slender enough to get into a dress like this... even though it is a bit ott...  lost MY waistline a while ago.

Ready for summer.... yeah course you are :D  These gorgeous Basicgrey papers always make me feel happy like the sun is shining cos the colours are just gorgeous don't you think.
Seems ages since I played with 'proper' flowers and bling.... cor how can I have managed to not use them... keep going through phases at the moment in my crafting.  Like you can't tell...lol

Hope the sun's shining where you are.
