29 Faces.... face#20.face#21 and face#22

Oooooh I am on the home stretch.. only two more days to go and I can give my eyes and hands a bit of a rest lol.  The first is an ink sketch a bit different from my normal stuff...coloured digitally.  It takes me so long to do a pencil sketch sometimes that I had to have a break and do something quick.

This one was a pencil sketch... coloured digitally... I just don't have time to paint manually as well as the sketching and besides digital colouring is cool and fun.

Finally for today I'm sharing another coloured doodle face.

29 Faces...Faces 17,18 and 19

OMG I am a slave to my art but for once in my life I am determined to complete a challenge.  If only I hadn't started late...lol   Still it HAS been fun and has totally pushed me to do something which I'm glad of because I had been so neglecting of my arty stuff and this challenge has shown me that doing it does make me happy and I should do something every day.

I won't waffle on just share with you a little about each face.... Face#17 is hand drawn and coloured digitally.....

Face#18 is painted with watercolour on top of a Dylusions ink background....

and finally Face#19 is a pencil sketch which is my favourite thing to do.... so relaxing!

29 Faces.... Face#15 and Face#16

Wow where has the day gone.... it's almost over and I nearly forgot to blog my faces for today.  I blame it on the sunshine... I'm not complaining mind, it is glorious being warm without waiting for a hot flush.  I don't mind having my own personal central heating but it doesn't switch on until inconvenient times... usually when I'm trying to sleep.  The joys of middle age ho hum.

Today I'm sharing a journal page and although I usually write somewhere on my pages I just couldn't seem to on this one.  I think I'm afraid to spoil it as I really like it for a change.

I guess I will leave her alone for now until maybe inspiration strikes... or maybe I should just let her eyes do the talking.

This sketch is one I started a while ago but didn't like so I've changed her eyes, nose, mouth and hair... okay almost all of her lol... but now she appeals to me more.
See you tomorrow... think I am going to have to share 3 a day from now on cos I am running out of days and still a lot of faces to do....oooer

Paint Party Friday and 29 Faces

I laughed so hard when I finished this journal page (and face#14). I normally paint in my journal on my knee and don't always realise I've gone wrong until I stand back.... that'll teach me.  I really need to practice profiles... ooops Mick Jagger comes to mind.... not a good look for a girl lol

The background was done with Dylusions inksprays and then I used watercolour pencils over the top.  I'm soooo glad they aren't MY chin and lips.   Oh well at least I can laugh about it!!

I'm happier with my sketch although she's a bit futuristic... my imagination works in mysterious ways!

29 Faces... Face#11 and Face#12

Well here we are again..... more faces and a happy Chris because the sun is shining and oh doesn't it make you feel good!  It's wonderful to have all the windows open and fresh air flowing through the house.  Almost makes me feel like doing housework (not...lol)  I'd rather pull my teeth out with pliers.... ooooh maybe not then.

Okay so Face#11 was hand drawn but I coloured her digitally to give her some nice colour.

 Face#12 is one I started a while back but didn't like so I did a bit of erasing and gave her new eyes and some hair.  Not the best hairstyle but the paper wasn't good after the rubbing out.  Serves me right for doing it in a cheap sketch book.  Still she looks better than I thought she'd end up so hey ho.

Back again tomorrow... hope to see you then.

29 faces.. Face#9 and Face#10

Well I resorted to a quick pen sketch for Face#9 cos I still have a lot of catching up to do and  the month is disappearing quicker than I can blink... blimey where do the hours go!

 Face#10 is another in my journal and I'm not really happy with the page as I seem to have spoiled it with misplaced writing... so I will have to have another play with it later and maybe add something to balance it a bit better.  Still there is no wrong in journalling is there... I guess any play is good play.

I do like the face though so at least I am happy with that part. Maybe I should cut her out and start another page with her as the focus.  Will have to think about that one.

29 Faces... Face#7 and Face#8

The pencils have been back out again and I actually gave this little girlie hair... I struggle with it but I'm getting better.  Everyday is a learning curve.  Hey I've even started doing eyelashes but not on this one.  Watch this space..lol  

Now although I love my pencil sketches.. doodling is fun too so I doodled this face and once again coloured it in pixlr.  

I do love these colours they are among my favourite of all time... totally yummy!

29 Faces.....Face#5 and Face#6

I am loving the 29 Faces challenge and it's certainly keeping me on my toes.   It is also keeping my drawing hand flexed and helping me to improve every day.  Although I'm sure there will be days when I don't have the time or inclination to do something intense and I will have bad sketch days as well as good ones.

  I have a confession to make in that  I haven't started each sketch from scratch ... some  are ones I've started previously and not completed BUT I have done a lot of work on each one each day, some altered unrecognisably from how they started out... so I hope you'll forgive me.

It was time for something a bit cuter with the sketch above... and no hair makes life a lot easier too lol.

I moved on to colour then and although I drew this little lady by hand I then coloured her digitally.  If you haven't used Pixlr before then give it a go... it is very similar to Photoshop but free.  Use it for your photographs or/and art... it is cool.  You do have to be online to use it but that's only a little blip considering it's 100% cheaper than Photoshop. whoohoo

29 Faces... Face#3 and Face#4

Ooops I got the pictures the wrong way round... I'm having a senior day lol.  Okay so face4 comes first and I think I must have been thinking a bit of mystic meg when I drew this one.  She's a bit wacky but I get the feeling she wants to tell my fortune ha ha.  Wonder what she would have in store for me!!  Hope it would be good.  Maybe she's a good omen cos for the first time EVER I got a refund from the taxman this week...whoohoo way to go...I officially LOVE the taxman....well at least for now.

Face3 is another I completed in my journal inspired by Dyan Reaveley and Dina Wakely..  I used fabby Dylusions spray inks again with watercolour pencils . 

I love how the background shows through on her face especially as it means I don't have to paint it all and I have a starting block to work with.

29 Faces May challenge

Well it's been a while but finally I'm back and I have a working laptop courtesy of a lovely friend of a friend who let me have his old one cheaply.  My other one may still be able to be fixed but it could be a while and I just couldn't wait any longer or give up on a bargain.  See good things DO happen to those who wait...lol.  Not having my lappy meant that I spent more time doing honest to goodness crafty and arty bits... have been in my element really!! 

I came across Aylas' challenge to do 29faces in May  and you know I just love doing faces so I had to join in.  Trouble is I'm starting half way through because of my laptop problems so I will have to share 2 every day to catch up.

So without further ado... my first face was done in my journal...

the background is Dylusions spray ink and acrylic paint and the face and hair etc is done with watercolour pencils.

Face no 2 is a quick pencil sketch not a lot of detail but it's been fun to push myself.
