A New Year and a New beginning... I have created a new blog filled with old and new art. It is time for me to focus on something new. I will be leaving this blog open for inspiration and so I can look back at what I have achieved in the future but I will be adding no further content here.

I've been a naughty girl,,,,

despite telling myself that I wasn't going to spend any more money on crafting goodies until at least January was out and my bank balance was looking a bit more sunny. Docrafts are having a sale and oh boy they have got some fabby Basic Grey stuff up for grabs and even though I tried to sit on my hands... they just kept nipping my bum till I got up and grabbed my plastic so I could get my hands on some of the lovelies!!! Shame on me :D Made me feel really good though... much better than chocolate which I have managed to deny myself since the New Year (aren't I a good lassie...lol)
I have to patiently wait until my stash is delivered though so in the meantime I had a play with another of my all time favourites... Cosmo Cricket :D (like you didn't know that eh!!) So for the first time in an age I made a Thank you card... don't know why I don't make more because there are always occasions to say it to fabby people IYKWIM.
I had a lot of fun inking the edges and adding my little bit of bling
and hand cutting and assembling the half paper flower. The background papers and thank you strip are from the Chemistry range and the paper I used for the flower is from Mr Campy.

So it seems my addiction to paper play is salved a little while I await my parcel and now I have to just dream about opening it when it arrives :D
Have a great day all

Artygirlz challenge #67-anything but a card

ooooh I AM becoming a naughty blogger but life just seems to be getting in the way right now... I don't mean to be awol... but things just keep cropping up to keep me off the 'puter ;)

My Artygirlz challenge piece is a reversible concertina book...the first one I've ever made... seems to be a year of firsts and change for me so far but I am enjoying doing different things it's really fun and stops my crafting sessions from being boring and stale... well for me at least... maybe not always exciting for YOU to look at... but a lot of satisfaction for me doing something new. I know you know what I mean :D

The outer cover and hand cut flower embellishment is my fab velvet paper from Scrapz cos I just lurvve stroking it...it's so lush The outline paper was just some scraps I wanted to use up.
The inner pages were made with 7gypsies paper again from Scrapz allowing plain white pages on one side to decorate and the lovely flourishes pages to decorate on the other. I was hoping to do some of the pages to show you but didn't manage to get around to it so will have to show you at a later date. Now then the main reason I have been awol is because it was DG Birthday at the weekend and as Nanna's usually do I got roped in to helping with the planning and helping out with his Birthday fun. As he is a lover of all things nautical right now we paid a visit to HMS Trincomalee at the Hartlepool Maritime Experience. He has been before and absolutely loved it but not with friends... so he was well excited that he could take his pals and Lord it over them by showing them how knowledgeable he was... knowing where everything was and how it worked...lol
The boys were whooping with excitement the minute we got through the doors even though it wasn't the nicest day and it took DD and I all our time to rein them in a little bit... cor three boys together are a handful.... they were buzzing!!
Clowning around the minute we got there AND posing for pics as often as possible...lol (the boys don't really have butterfly masks...heh heh... but in the interests of anonymity I thought I had better provide them for DG's pals)

They were all for climbing up on the ship and up to here to face the dizzy heights... thankfully though that isn't allowed so I didn't have to put a brave face on while my heart thudded in my chest at the thought of peering down at the decks below....phew!!

They contented themselves with walking the plank and perching precariously 2 feet from the soft play mat below :D
A sailors' lunch in the decks below didn't look toooooo appetizing... pleased I didn't have to eat THAT even salad leaves look more appealing!
There were plenty of photo opportunities on the inside and outside games to chase off the cobwebs and wear the boys out a little... even if me and his Mum almost froze to death despite the thickest of scarves and gloves... why is it kids NEVER seem to feel the cold?

We moved into the free museum afterwards and my little man became a monk for a short while...he sooooo loves to dress up

and then took a well earned rest at the old school desk.... heh heh... I remember desks like those :D Wonder if that's how he sits after a hard day at school normally.
Anyway a good time was had by all and afterwards they all had MacDonald's followed by a sleepover and I think this is one birthday he will certainly remember :D

I've got some more goodies to share this week so promise I won't be a stranger.

'Till next time :D

Cen's crafty bits...

is now up and running and what a treat you have in store... there are going to be lots of downloads in printable pdf form available to use in your crafting and you can get the newest downloads here now :D
I used one of the images from the Sillhouettes downloads to create a special card for my Mam's Birthday. I used digital papers and frame from Cen's stuff Victorian Memories kit which you can find here for my background and handcut elements.

Lots of paper sculpting and doodling again on this card with some of my favourite bling and gorgeous sticky ribbon that I bought many moons ago to add a feel of luxury. Well we've only got one Mam right :D

I hand drew the scalloped edge and punched holes because I don't have a waterfall punch... but where there's a will there's a way right :D

Now I have already introduced you to Ellie below on my 1st Christmas card so now I want you to meet Jo :D You can find these two cute characters over at Cen's crafty bits ready to download for printing... there is a coloured version and also one that you can colour yourself using your copic markers, pencils etc.

Here is my first Christmas card using Jo... I think he is so cute and like every little boy he loves his Christmas tree :DMore paper sculpting and bling with printed papers from Cen's stuff Victorian memories digital kit. This kit is one of my all time favourites... I just keep using it again and again and I just love doing hybrid creations.
I hope you will pop over and visit Ellie and Jo and one more thing before I go... if you haven't already... then you really need to pop over to The Papergirls blog and see the amazing entries in the altered cd challenge... they really are all stunning... and don't forget to vote for you favourite too :D
Have a great day

Papergirls Altered Cd challenge

Just a quickie today as this is DG weekend to stay with me and much as I love my blog... I gotta tell you I love him more...lol This is my example for the little challenge going on over at The Papergirls blog For more info pop over and see what it's all about and don't forget there is a prize of some fab stamps too.
I took this photo of DG ages and ages ago when I had my other blog... but it always makes me laugh and I have been looking for an excuse to create something with it. He was trying to teach me how to curl my tongue... but it is something I definately can't do no matter how hard I try... and believe me I did try... to the point that my tongue ended up pretty sore.. the things you do for kids eh :D He was well impressed that he could do it and I couldn't but I seem to remember someone leaving me a comment the first time I showed this photo about the ability to curl your tongue being hereditary... who'd have thought it eh!!
Have a fab weekend everyone :D

Boo bag - Gothic Arch challenge and Papergirls sneak peak

Ooooooh a long post tonight because the best laid plans this week have gone astray. I had intended to get round to visit everyone's blogs but well luck hasn't been on my side since my last post. I spent the day with my crafty friend Chriss on Thursday crafting through her birthday and having lots of laughs along the way, most of Friday was spent getting ready to go visit my sister for a couple of days but then hey ho I got a bug!! It must have been a super big bug cos it totally knocked me for six..... I think this one had pit boots on the amount of thudding it did with my tummy :-0 So no visiting or blogging for me as I have spent the last couple of days either in the little girls room or in bed!! (ooooh maybe a little too much information ok but you get my drift...lol) Thankfully I am now starting to feel much better so I will be visiting you all very soon but in the meantime here is a bit of eye candy for you to peek at :)

Halloween won't be long in coming now and while I don't really bother with it myself my DG loves it as most kids do... so I have a few things that I have made for him, to share with you over the next couple of weeks.

Once again I have been playing at making flowers albeit different ones this time, was gonna use ribbon b u t I just couldn't bend my arm up my back for this one... maybe soon I will overcome my horror of cutting it into tiny pieces.. I'm working on it ;-)

All of the cutie images I used to create my little Boo Bag are from Cens Loft I love them lots and you can get them as a free download in either digital form or as printables for those of you who like to be hands on. I indulged in a little bit of doodling too on my gift bag and filled it with sweeties... quickly before I was tempted to stuff my face with them...lol

My next piece was for last weeks Gothic Arch challenge (Haute Couture) which I didn't get posted in time but since it was finished I wanted to share it with you anyway. I love girly things and Black and White and I think the two go so well together... classy and elegant. I love the glamour of old films and the beautiful way the filmstars used to dress, I could soooo see myself in the era of those movies... glammed up and partying with a glass of bubbly in my hand, diamonds dripping from my earlobes with a figure to die for.... shame I have to come back down to earth and deal with reality ain't it ...lol

I used to wear killer heels... through summer, rain and snowstorms... nothing less than 4" heals would do... and pencil skirts ooooooh I had them in every colour imaginable BUT that was before my toes began to throb at the sight of a pair of pointy toes and my hips began to gain a wobble all of their own ;-) aaaaaw the distress that causes me...lol

Oh well guess we can't have it all... I'm happy and loved and relatively healthy (now I've kicked that big bug into touch... I hope) so I think my cup runneth over... what say you :)
Now for a sneak peek of something else I have made.... to see the whole thing you have to pop over to The Papergirls blog where you will find a pic of the whole thing :)

Okay before I hit the sheets running I have to ask you this.... Does anyone else adore Dawn Porter? She is just the most adventurous funniest gal on the box right now... she is up for anything and I just finished watching her do a programme on Seriously Dirty Dancing... oh boy what a treat. Not only cos I love the film Dirty Dancing (though not nearly as much as DD who has seen it in excess of 200 times since it was first released) but because Dawn Porter had me howling with her antics and sheer enthusiasm all the way through. She recreated the last dance of the movie with a dance instructor and did brilliantly, I must add that the highlight for me was seeing her do one of the "dirty dances" in a pink ballerina fat suit... I don't think I have gut bustingly laughed like I just did in many a month.... absolutely out of this world...fantabulous it was!!

That's my lot for tonight... I will be back tomorrow with some more creative goodies and doing some blog hopping too... I'm off to bury my head in a soft squishy pillow and wrap myself snugly in my winter weight quilt hopefully to dream nice dreams and wake up feeling on top of the world...lol

See you soon :D
