MY NEW ART BLOG HERE I would love your company.

A New Year and a New beginning... I have created a new blog filled with old and new art. It is time for me to focus on something new. I will be leaving this blog open for inspiration and so I can look back at what I have achieved in the future but I will be adding no further content here.

SCD challenge-the letter B

I'm joining in with SCD challenge this week where the letter is 'B'... with my tiny bird on the perch of his tiny birdhouse... 'n' I say tiny cos it's only about 3" tall.  I got it from The Artistic Stamper... it had a hanging loop but I decided to cut it off as I will stand it in my kitchen.

I totally surprised myself by cutting out this wee humming bird TWICE.... my sausage fingers usually make this a mean feat believe me...but I persevered and I think he looks happy on his new perch.

All stamps are by Crafty Individuals... except the letter 'B' which I think is Anna Griffin.
I used Distress and spray inks to colour the images and followed the nature theme round to the back of my birdhouse with trees :D

Now then thanks for looking at my arty piece today and as I promised I have got something a little special to share today so see the post below :D

Wednesday stampers - Trees

Todays piece is for the Wednesday stampers challenge.  I used this fab new funky stamp from Crafty Individuals which says 'meet under the tree for a nice cup of tea'  shame I prefer coffee... but there we go :D
I picked out my chair to sit on and my cup and stamped that part again on a seperate inked piece of card and after cutting out placed it over the original image before adding glossy accents for added dimension.

I think you will be seeing a lot of glossy accents on future crafty bits cos my love for it has been rekindled :D

Gothic arch challenge (trees)

I had the opportunity to play with my new distress inks while doing this weeks Gothic Arch Challenge and oooh they is gawgus!! Didn't buy the tool to use them with so used a makeup sponge to apply them and I love the effect they give. I wanted to have a bit of fun with this one and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The trees and bird are Crafty Individuals stamps, Mona is from Lost coast designs, nests are from Lisa's altered art and Little Mona from Artchix. I even used some of the sticky ribbon I've had in my ribbon box for about 4yrs...lol How good am I? ;-0

Well HELLOOOOO again....

I bet you thought I was never coming back...lol Well just as I thought I was on the mend last week I began to have horrible dizzy spells (and no it's nowt to do wiv me bein' blonde...lol) After a visit to the GP it seems that a lot of people are picking up this virus and the dizziness is part and parcel of the illness. So it's taken me another week to pull myself together enough to feel like blogging or indeed crafting again. Thanks for all of the well wishes and I will be round to catch up with everyone as soon as I can... as well as catching up with the heaps of awards I have received that I haven't got round to passing on ( I have saved them all honest) and thanks to everyone who thought of me :D
Now then... on to the fun bit... I finally got to play with my alcohol inks, my white pen and my new stamps from Scrapz.... whoooooohooooo I am in luv!!!! OMG I totally totally adore them (why didn't I buy some before... what a lot of time I have wasted)
I have admired this Mona Lisa stamp on lots of bloggers creations and decided I just had to have it and because she is my new baby I gave her wings and a crown so she could feel all glam in her new surroundings. The Lost coast design stamps are fabulous and these trees made a fab background with the alcohol inks. The best bit is that I didn't lose the pads off my fingertips like I did with my sharpie pens...rofl (see my altered tin post lower down) and the inks were sooooo quick to use. Only trouble is... I need more... and some distress inks and................... oh I could go on and on... just as well I haven't written my Christmas list yet eh :D

Moving on...WHO CAN REMEMBER..... doing scraper boards at school where you used wax crayons on card covered with a layer of black and using something sharp to scrape your design onto your sheet. I used to love them as a kid and I know that you can buy loads of clever scraper boards now with pictures for you already to scrape yourself... well while visiting my favourite cheapo shops a while ago I saw these... in a pack for kids. So I bought some for DG not realizing how cool they are :D DG had a ball scraping his design into his aeroplane... which at one moment was a "poor plane" but ended up a "cool plane" when he had finished and then he gave one to ME...... whoohoooo
Big girls like to play too... so I got a helicopter and scraped off my own design so that I can use it on a layout of when DG and I shared a helicopter ride... I think they are well pretty and the colours as beautiful as the alcohol inks.

Okay to say thank you for being my blog buddies and for sticking around over the weeks I have been missing I have decided to do a couple of RAK's and if I can find more of these scraper shapes I will pop some of them in the goody bags along with some surprises. All you have to do to receive one is to leave a comment on this post and I will pick some names at random at the weekend to receive some goodies to play with :D You up for it ?...lol
Have a fab evening everyone and I will be back tomorrow with more catch up stuff.
