Plant kindness..Gather love

Sorry I haven't been around for a while but my head's been in a funny old place!!  Not been able to draw...or craft.... or concentrate on anything including blogging. I've watched more telly over the last week or so than I've done in years. It's been driving me crazy  (I KNOW...I'm that already...lol) but irritable is the only way I can describe how I've been feeling...oh and really frustrated with my inability to get things moving.  I spent a few days with my pal Chriss in the hope of doing some crafting and eventually managed to do ONE thing cos nothing else seemed to come together... usually the ideas are buzzing around like little bees gathering pollen... but not this time.  Poor Chriss had a lot to put up with as I was a bit snappy too... thank goodness my mood seems to be lifting a bit now and thank Heaven for good buddies who put up with me :D

Anyway on to crafting...I thought this little saying was cute and it inspired me to make this altered chipboard piece with one of the bare sheets of chipboard available from Tando Creative. The chipboard stands up to a lot of battering and is an ideal base for the crackled paint effect using pva glue and acrylic paints.

I applied the glue and paint quite thickly and got a fab result with some really deep indents which I love.

Adding some flowers and watering can seemed in keeping with the saying and I did intend to make a hanger with my piece but I have decided to use it as a cover for an altered book containing some favourite quotes now... so that I can keep out on display because I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

I HATE comedies...even though I love to laugh and have a MAD sense of humour.... most sitcoms and comedy films drive me even MORE insane.  I could scream out loud when DG stays with me and wants to watch things like 'Friends' and 'Fresh prince of Bellair'  They irritate me beyond belief and I just can't laugh at them... especially shows that have 'canned laughter' aaaaaargh  (I think something inside of me is switched off...ha ha ha)

Mona Lisa altered photo frame.

You could be forgiven for getting fed up with seeing Mona Lisa on my blog buuuuut I just can't help it... there is just something about her face that draws me in and I love to create around it :D I always seem to use her on things that I have no intentions of giving away cos I can't bare to part with anything I make with her image on... freaky or what...lol
This time I altered a frame with papers from Crafty Individuals which are sooo pretty. I just love the delicate colours.

I gave Mona her own headdress too... found it in my bead box... from my days of messing with wire and pearl beads in the hope that I would come up with something worth looking at or wearing. This was a project that didn't quite happen for me but I think it's arty enough for Mona and she wears it well :D

I recently received this fabby award from Dawn and just this once I really can't just choose a few people to pass it on to because I greatly appreciate every single comment that any of you leave for me... they really make my day and I so love knowing that you like what you see when you visit my blog.

Award time and digi scrapping

After seeing June's new freebie paper packs (see post below) my fingers got the buzz and for the first time in ages I did some digi scrapping. Love, love, love these colours together and there will be more up for grabs as the week goes on so I may even find that my mojo has come back completely cos I'm feeling very creative right now. The photo is of my niece on a day at the park when it went from a lovely day to freezing cold in just a few hours. I captured her while she was taking a breather and obviously a moment deep in thought... probably wondering when home time would come lol

All dressed down with nowhere to go....lol

Well after all the excitement of yesterday's visit to the Oscars' and all of that bubbly and Chocolate I am in meltdown. Threw off my glam clothes and bling as soon as I got home last night and hit the pillow like a rock in an avalanche and as always said "Never again" BUT I just couldn't do that to my loyal fans...lol So despite having the hangover from hell (with the drink I never drunk...rofl) must've been the bubbles... I upped and put on my make up and bling!! I decided however that I was sure you wouldn't mind... due to the fact that I am bloomin' freezing because we got SNOW through the night... if I wore my most comfy and yes poshest dressing gown and stayed at home to receive my awards tonight...lol My tiara didn't slip once cos I have been on my best behaviour (well apart from jumping up and down and yelling yeeeeehhhhhaaaaa when 'The David' was evicted from Celeb tonight hee hee) because I spotted the Queen crown on the table all ready for the final night at the Oscars and I soooo want to wear it cos it's got my name on it. Well I am Queen of the bling right... cos even if I don't use it on everything I create..I still look at it and swoon everyday :D
So now that I am comfy in my lush surroundings and warm as toast in my squishy, snuggly gown here are a few more awards to pass on :D

My week at the Oscars....

begins today...lol I am so naughty because I have been collecting blog awards but been neglectful of passing them on... so I have put on my bestest little black dress, had my hair done (well washed anyway ) and I am dripping with my bestest ever bling to say THANK YOU to all my blogging buddies who have so kindly bestowed these awards on me :D I will be passing on more over the next few days... would do them all at once but I don't think my keyboard can take it ..lol I must confess however that I can't remember all the rules that go with them so will just pass them all on to some very special people without the rules... hope that's okay :D
