A New Year and a New beginning... I have created a new blog filled with old and new art. It is time for me to focus on something new. I will be leaving this blog open for inspiration and so I can look back at what I have achieved in the future but I will be adding no further content here.

Once upon a time

there was a sweet girl who really wanted to go to the ball. She didn't have the usual crown and pretty dress so didn't think she had a chance of making her dream come true.....

that was until she found the Tando chipboard pumpkin carriage and realised that even if she didn't have a ball to go to she could still be princess for a day :D

Who knows while she is enjoying her ride in her carriage... she may just find her own Prince Charming who will help her to realize her dream eh.

The carriage is a fab size for a box frame I found .... I painted it with white acrylic paint as a base and it just had to have the glitter treatment although it doesn't show up too well in my photos. I used thick flaky glittery stuff that I got from the £1 shop.... I love the texture of it and it just shows crafting doesn't have to cost a fortune.

Christmas....

is coming... and so is Santa... you do believe in him don't ya ;-)  So in honour of the cuddly man with the white beard I created him a star of his very own.  I used gorgeous paper from Crafty Individuals....

as well as this gorgeous portrait of the man himself from the same place.  He deserved a frame and this wee frame from Tando was just the job.  I coloured it with copics before adding Tim Holtz crackle paint .  The two little hearts on top were removed from the sides.

Hope you are ready for him :)

Chistmas decoration

Another heart used from the  Tando ' Home hanging chipboard set'....this time to create a decoration for my Christmas tree. I covered the heart in this gorgeous Crafty Individuals Christmas paper and added some hand cut wings covered in the same.

Tip : Don't throw out your Tando packaging... the card comes in really useful for little extras like these wings, ATC backs and to put through your diecutting machines ;-)

I used a tube of 3d glitter glue to add around the edges and also a little snowflake charm and clear gem for a little bit of luxury.

A really easy project but something I can keep in my decorations box to use for lots of years to come.

Alter it monthly challenge- Home Sweet Home

Okay so you thought I had disappeared off the face of the earth... didn't ya...lol   I'm still here but I have a confession to make.  I am now a Facebook Junkie (and OMG fb games.... they are giving me sleepless nights and normally I hate these sort of things.... think I am morphing ooooer).  So me lovelies if you are on facebook yourself... let me know so I can add you as my friend  (well if you wanna be my friend that is...lol)

Right down to crafty stuff cos that's what you wanna see isn't it so... and I have decided to enter this piece into Alter it Monthly challenge where the theme is Home Sweet Home (can't believe I just found this challenge blog... where've I been).  There are some fab examples over there... go check it out.
Take a walk down memory lane... that's the name of my piece... created with gorgeous papers, stamps, chipboard  and an image from Crafty Individuals once again.

See my birdie at the white picket fence listening to the sweet tune of the violin.... I think he thinks it's a lady birdie...n... maybe he's in love...lol  He's sort of got that look in his eye :D  The chipboard house was wonderful to stamp on... great smooth surface and I coloured with distress inks... AGAIN...lol

Thanks for looking.... hope to catch up with you all this week :D

Home sweet home card

It's a hat trick... lol.... this is the third easel card... will share something different tomorrow.  I promise :D

This is only a teeny weeny one ... the stamped house images are just over an inch tall.  Just wanted to try something different... cos I get bored easy.  I had to have a little door that opened too... can you see it.

I used alcohol ink on the background and the images were stamped onto patterned paper before cutting out.
I think this is one of my favourites out of my crafty pieces... don't think I can give this away...but then again I could have another favourite next week.  Very fickle...lol

Hope the sun is still shining for you

Life is short... do what you love....

is the sentiment on this easy peasy bookmark I made.  The words and paper are from Crafty Individuals and for once I thought I would make something for myself which is pretty and practical.

I used a rectangle of paper adhered to card, roughed the edges with an emery board and snipped into the bottom with my scissors to create some fringing.  I cut out the butterfly from another part of the paper...curling the edges over my scissors before adding it to complete the bookmark.

A hole punched through the top and some co-ordinating ribbon and quick as you like... no need to turn over those page edges again.  That's soooo naughty isn't it and a complete no no with our craft books...lol

Flower bracelet

I keep making paper flowers without knowing what I'm going to do with them... I think I'm obsessed... I see a piece of paper and before I know what I'm doing I'm cutting petal shapes... oh well I just have to go with the flow.   I decided to make a grungeboard bracelet... I covered it with some pretty CI paper and my flower just leapt on top like it belonged there...lol

I used paper stamped with a diamond background stamp also from CI for my petals and once I glued them together and curled them a wee bit I just knew I wanted a bead in the centre.  The bracelet is fastened with some chain and a clasp.

A bit OTT but fun to make.

p.s. Can you just SEEEE how hairy my arms are.....ooooer wrinkly too...lol

Little boy booties

Anyone for more shoes.... oh oh... sorry can't help it I just can't stop making them and I've lots more to share with you but don't want to scare you off by showing them altogether so I will space them out :D
I adapted the template that I used for the baby girl shoes (from Craftstamper Magazines online freebies) cos I just had to have a boy pair... well you do don't you.

I used more paper from Crafty Individuals for this pair ... I just love the colours and added an additional foldover piece in addition to the template pieces to act as a fastener... think velcro on kiddies shoes...lol

To make the lickle buttony thing I put some paper over a sticky pad and then punched out a circle so I could stick it on with the minimum fussing about.

Hope you like 'em

Ladies elegant shoe

Well I was in for a treat when I found this Fabulous template and tutorial on Terri's wonderful blog!!  Terri's shoe has a lot more embellishment and is so beautiful... you really must go look :D  I kept mine a little simpler with this being my first attempt... didn't want to over complicate things for myself.

I used my favourite paper from Crafty Individuals for the front and back of my shoe....
I added a kitten heel and a ribbon bow.

I think I should have raised the front a little bit... but I'm liking it anyway and I think I am going to have a shelf full of shoes by the time I stop playing...lol

I decorated the upper sole with this cute Crafty Individuals image....

and made a cute paper flower just cos I love flowers.

Hope you like my first attempt and if you get chance do go and check out Terri's shoe for yourself... it really is sooooo gorgeous!!

Peeled Paint atc's

Last months challenge for the Artist Trading Club was set by the very talented Gaby and it was to include the peeled paint technique which Gaby very generously provided a tutorial for.  Now I must admit I'm not a technique junky so this one was a definite challenge for me and I'm a bit late posting my atc's cos I sort of put off doing them cos I wasn't sure what I was going to do.  After a bit of a play I managed to come up with a background I was happy with and it was just screaming 'seaside' at me.
I wanted to go for something different to what I usually do and moved away from girly pretty....
I love this cute bird stamp and I gave him a hat to protect his head from the sun :D

Went a bit off the wall with this one... my mind works in mysterious ways sometimes...lol
Then I calmed down and went for a look that is a bit more traditional....
cos you can't have the seaside without birds, shells and beach huts.
All stamps and images I used are from Crafty Individuals.

Thanks a million to Gaby for the inspiration and the tut which was fab.

There is a new challenge up today for June and you have a whole month to join in if you pop over and find out the details here

Now today is a very very Special Birthday for a very special lady and I can't go without wishing Beate a wonderful Happy Happy Birthday.  Please pop by and leave her some Birthday wishes... I know she would be chuffed if you could make her day even more special.  She is a really talented inspirational lady and you won't be sorry to pay her a visit :D.

London lady atc

Well I'm having a fab time at Chriss' ..fab company...great food and LOTS of crafting but very little sleep. We didn't go to bed at all last night... I finally gave in at 9.30am this morning and had to go for some shut eye and got about 5 hrs lol. , Chriss is going for the marathon cos she is still going strong even if her eyes look like little slits in her face....bless :D
We've made LOADS of stuff... played like kids in nursery school and laughed and skitted each other mercilessly... that's what friends are for eh.
Can't show you what I've made yet... will reveal all over the next few days... but here is one I did earlier, always have summat tucked away. I love these fab stamps from Tanda Stamps and this gorgeous background paper which is from Crafty Individuals totally yummy.
Ok gotta go cos my Tim Holtz goodies are screaming to be played with and I am so loving getting messy... you should see the colours of my fingers...rofl

See you soon

Mona Lisa altered photo frame.

You could be forgiven for getting fed up with seeing Mona Lisa on my blog buuuuut I just can't help it... there is just something about her face that draws me in and I love to create around it :D I always seem to use her on things that I have no intentions of giving away cos I can't bare to part with anything I make with her image on... freaky or what...lol
This time I altered a frame with papers from Crafty Individuals which are sooo pretty. I just love the delicate colours.
I gave Mona her own headdress too... found it in my bead box... from my days of messing with wire and pearl beads in the hope that I would come up with something worth looking at or wearing. This was a project that didn't quite happen for me but I think it's arty enough for Mona and she wears it well :D

I recently received this fabby award from Dawn and just this once I really can't just choose a few people to pass it on to because I greatly appreciate every single comment that any of you leave for me... they really make my day and I so love knowing that you like what you see when you visit my blog.
So please if you have EVER left a comment on ANY of my posts pick up this award and display it proudly on your blog with a HUGE THANK YOU from me xxxxx

See you soon
