Inchie fridge magnet

We all love to play with paper but sometimes there's more fun to be had by getting out the sloppy stuff and getting all messed up :D  When I'm decorating I end up with more paint on me than on the walls and when I'm crafting with paint I end up the same.  I 'm a serial handwiper on trousers kinda gal... which is why my wardrobe keeps diminishing..lol
I played with a mini canvas for this piece adding lots of my fave colour red acrylic paint before bubbling it up with my heat gun to add texture.  Love it cos now it's all touchy feely.   The wooden inchie was covered with an inchie image from Narry at Etsy to which I added a wee bit of red brick distress ink.

I finished off by gluing a magnet to the back... quick and easy...and lotsa fun.

Little Bird atc

Well this atc is technically a bit of a cheat... I say this because it was really a combined effort. The background was created by my pal Chriss but she didn't like it and was going to throw it in the BIN!! "Bling-kin-eck girl you can't do that" says I and grabbed it before she could dispose of it. Haven't you heard the saying Chriss me love... One man's trash is another man's treasure...lol
So I added just a wee bit of paint to the background (the yellow stuff...told you it was just a wee bit) and added this cute little birdie from Crafty Individuals which I coloured with distress inks.
I'm so glad I rescued it cos I think he looks sweet :D

well of course it is.... but I missed Valentines day with these atc's I did...duh!! Still better late than never... no point waiting 'till next year to share cos I truly will have forgotten about them by then. So get your romance goggles on...awwwww sweet love :D
Think this little man is a wee bit young for the love stuff but she's a little angel so it matters not.
This little fella has flown hundreds of miles to tell this little missy his heart belongs to her... chuckle chuckle get a load of that cheeky shy look ...heh heh...love her face.

Backgrounds done painterly...slosh, slap, slosh
Images all by Lisa's altered art.
Thanks for stopping by :D

Oh what a wonderful week I've had.....

I went awol to spend some fabby dabby crafty time with my bestest crafting buddies Chriss and Debbie and OMG what fun we had!!! Laughing till our sides ached and having muchus fun with all kinds of crafty bits. I will save the best till last so hope you don't get too bored (long post lol).

The lovely talented Debbie (Shariati) shared some stampbord pieces with us and I was in Heaven having a play with this as it's the first time I've used it....

new addiction coming into play me thinks. Don't usually like small cos of my sausage fingers but I just loved doing these little inchies :D

We sloshed around with inks, paints, colour washes and all sorts of goodies but as I can't bear to waste anything... I had to use the huge bits of kitchen roll that we had mopped up some of the inks with...to create a background. Waste not want not eh!!

It was really therapeutic to stick down all the torn bits onto a new sheet 'specially as there was no plan and no telling how it would turn out. Mind you I was bound to create something wonderful in my puddy cat night attire that I lived in for most of the week...lol Well we weren't going anywhere further than the craft table and I like to be comfy.

I was however banished to the builders yard for ciggy time... I know... I know.... filthy habit but I just can't help myself. Naughty pic this... makes me look 107 pmsl... but I had just washed me hair and needed the turban and bodywarmer along with the coffee to enable me to brave the cold air while I had me fix (was under glass I might add so not braving the elements altogether)

'n' here was the result of all me sticking 'n' gluing... not entirely fabulous but I liked it...

and it worked well as a background for my circular tag...just love the texture of pieces like this.

We were a bit naughty on the food front too cos Chriss kept feeding me magnum ice creams.... yuuuuuummy and as I said before I can't waste anything so the lolly stick became the wings for my paper button fairy...lol I'm having withdrawal symptoms now I'm home BUT I'm waiting for my TSV from QVC YEEEEEES I'm getting Tim Holtz new book and I'm just sooooooo excited!!!!!!!! I got an email today to say it's been sent out and I am hyperventilating at the thought of getting it... whoooohoooo playtime here come ;-)

If they've had time there should be more evidence of our crafty days together on both Chriss' and Debbies' blogs so if you get chance do pop over and check out their pics :D

Thanks for looking

See you soon

6"x4"artcard- House of Birds

I just LOVE this new bird stamp from Crafty Individuals and the beautiful shrine effect stamp that I have used in part for the roof and base of my house of birds artcard.

The background is handpainted onto canvas effect paper which I've grunged slightly with ink after painting. I used pencils to colour the background of the bird stamp because I like the random effect they give.

printed them out on canvas paper....
added some rub-on words and extra doodling...
and also some bling... lol
Cor I just loved it...it was so much fun.

Doing the fish dance....lol

I told you I was losing the plot... 'n' my artwork becoming stranger by the moment. Well I don't know what tricks my mind was playing with me while I was creating this but I was even laughing at myself :D
Don't quite know what kind of music she could be dancing to (answers on a postcard please...rofl) but it's definitely the fish dance!!
Little bit zetti.... little bit nutty.

Colour me blue and free painty backgrounds

I wasn't feeling 'blue' when I did this journal page but somehow all the papers I kept picking out for my collage ended up being blue ones :D I have to say that this has turned out to be one of my favourite pages.... I say one of... because each one I do is my favourite on that day lol.
Now because I've been sloshing around with paint for my backgrounds etc I thought it would be nice to share. So here are 7 of the ones I liked most. Feel free to grab them (click on each picture and then 'save as') Each piece is scanned at 300dpi and will print out at approx 5" x7" but will print out larger if you use a lower resolution. Use them for your atc's, art backgrounds, cards etc.... printed out or digital if you prefer. I'd love to see anything you create using them so leave me a comment and a link if you do so I can come see. :D

Happy Crafting

Imagine 6x4

Ive got myself a little photo box which will hold hundreds? of 6"x4" pieces of artwork and as I spent some fab crafting and chatting time with me luvverly pal Chriss last night... it seemed like the ideal opportunity to begin some pieces to start filling it. I wanted an inspiration box for when my mojo goes missing so what better thing to do than fill it with my favourite things :D

The background was created with paint...yep I had a slosh about the other night and it was so much fun. I added bits of kitchen roll and some net from a fruit bag to give the piece some texture during my painting.
The stamps are all from Crafty Individuals (some used in part) the fab new ones out now include some amazing birdies and scenes from gorgeous places....oooooeeeee Just love the Statue of Liberty on my birdies' body don't you.
Have a fab weekend all

eeek!! What a shape....rofl

Fed up and painted out I spent the night at pal Chriss' house, after chatting on the phone and totally on impulse, I left my house as I was ...knowing that no matter how I turned up Chrissy wouldn't turn a hair...lol She kindly decided that I should share with you my fantastic new fashion statement.....so took some pics of my fabby designer trousers to share with you... you don't get to see the rest of me....tooooo painful....lolI freaked when I saw this pic.... but believe me that REALLY ISN'T my normal shape...lol My painter trousers have grown a shape and life of their own after six weeks of hand wiping additions. Don't know what cloths are for me :D
Not really doin' any work here... photo is staged... if you look close you can see there's no paint in the tray...lol
Okay that's enuf from me today.... work to be done and all that.... today sanding walls....uuurrrgh... but one step nearer to having some me time and crafting fun... so onwards and upwards as they say :D
Hope you aren't too envious of my designer duds....lol
Have a fab bank holiday all.

Stash revival - don't you just love it...

when you find something in your stash that you forgot about and give it an airing and have loads of fun getting messy.... oooooh what a fab feeling. I so often get caught up with using new (must have) stuff that I forget what I have tucked away from former purchases.
I came across some textured paint that I bought about 5 years ago for 50p...yes 50p... in an art shop sale. It got hidden away in a draw never to see daylight again...lol Well 'till now that is and am I glad I found it...it's fab. I love texture... it's so much nicer when something is touchy feely as well as being pretty to look at. So I did myself a favour and created a plaque for my room to remind me of what I love to do.
I used the texture paint before I added my own colours over the top. The original was white with sparkly bits in it (bling it on...sigh) I painted a canvas first of all giving it a second coat of brown acrylic paint. These Maya Road chipboard letters were coated with the texture paint before using Tim Holtz distress inks to add colour.
The chipboard crown from Riff Raff designs just has two layers of the white textured paint and some bling added cos I love princessy things (the little girl in me is still here). For the background paper I used BasicGrey cupcake attached to a scalloped chipboard base which I cut in half for the top and bottom of my plaque. I added glitter and flock to portions of the design for more touchy feeliness :)

This lovely bit of bling is from some stick on pieces that DG bought for me at Christmas in his little parcel of loveliness. He knows his Nanna so well ...bless :) Believe it or not they were meant for decorating your hands!! I'm not quite THAT with it...rofl but they did come in useful.
One of my other loves is making things 3d and sticky pads are never far from me in my stash bag (the crown got the treatment) I added a little more colour to the canvas with distress ink rubbed in which brought out the sparkle from the textured paint and 'Bob's yer Uncle' and 'Voila' etc.. etc ..etc. I now have no excuse for not knowing what to do when I'm in the crafting mood.... I can see my reminder every day....

Create ... A R T :)
See you soon and thanks for visiting

Big art adventure challenge- chunky atc

I soooo enjoyed doing this challenge as I haven't painted so much since I was a kid... it's amazing how you don't really forget... just that the ability to do something lies dormant in you until you rediscover an interest. I am so inspired by Linda's paintings that I wanted to do something similar but I always manage to end up with something on the twee side...lol Maybe that's just part of my personality which comes out in what I create.
Anyway I am slightly impressed with myself that I managed to finish her... even though I re-painted her face so many times it's a wonder it doesn't stand off the block an inch on it's own... she had small eyes and big lips, then smaller lips and a nose, then big eyes big lips and no nose... honestly a face lift from a surgeon would've been quicker. I can draw cute faces but when it comes to filling them in with the paintbrush I was totally kak handed. The paint was going in every direction but the one I wanted...lol
I also found that what looks like delicate painting in reality.... looks quite splodgy when you take the photo to put on your blog... but then that could also be my eyesight :D I am glad that I have finished my piece and even managed to add a wee bit of bling...well I just had to didn't I.... but I think I need to keep on practicing to enjoy my art adventure more :D
have a great evening

Let's go paint the walls... digi layout

A little while ago the living room needed a face lift so out came the paint cans and this is what happened...lol
If you don't want a mess... or a bit of fun... then don't let the kids loose with the paintbrush :) DG is always eager to "help" and I was a bit unsure but he did a grand job, when we had almost finished he said "Nanna I've got paint on my face" but then it ended up on his t-shirt, hands and trousers (accidentally on purpose...lol) Thank goodness for play clothes!! He was kept amused for hours so I think I may let him help next time too.

I had a play at painting on my own with my wacom tablet for this layout and must say I probably had as much fun doing this as DG had while getting messed up... but best bit is I don't have to wash away my paint... took us ages to get it off DG. Though this could have been helped by the fact that he has an aversion to soap and water. Does that ever go away with boys I wonder...lol
