MY NEW ART BLOG HERE I would love your company.

A New Year and a New beginning... I have created a new blog filled with old and new art. It is time for me to focus on something new. I will be leaving this blog open for inspiration and so I can look back at what I have achieved in the future but I will be adding no further content here.

Wish you were here atc

A little bit of distress ink and some collaged images make for a quick and easy atc... been too hot here today to do much more.  I love the weather BUT I hate the pesky fly that has invaded my home and has followed me everywhere today...even been cheeky enough to sit on my laptop aaaargh

I haven't any fly spray so have attacked it with a tea towel, a rolled up paper and even some hairspray lol... in the hopes of eradicating it or at the very least sticking it's wings together (oh that makes me sound so cruel..ha ha ha) but all to no avail... it just keeps on driving me nuts!!

Self standing-atc

Still on the 'Guy' themes for now... ooooer.  This is an atc made with an image from Lisa. Altered art.... mounted onto a hand painted background before adding to a papercovered atc.

I wanted to stand it up cos I really like this one so I made a little tab at the back so that I could display it without using something seperate.

I think I will add these to a few more atc's... especially my favourite ones as they are much to nice to store away in folders :D

Have a great day

Queen atc

The new images from Lisa's altered art make it amazingly easy to create beautiful  art.  I think the new Paris backgrounds and images are totally gorgeous and couldn't wait to use them.

A little bit of decoupage made it touchy feely and I think she looks royal with her fab crown :D

See you soon

Tarzan and Jane.

Hands up those of you who used to watch Tarzan as a kid... he was my hero... whichever actor played him :D  I used to be amazed at how he could fight crocodiles and lions and fly through the trees..ha ha  the gullibility of childhood.  I was convinced it was REAL!!!

He always got his Jane too... she looks scared to death... but Tarzan will always protect her ha ha

Mona... my Mona....

did I tell you that my Mona is my favourite lady to stamp... did I ... did I... I'm sure I did...lol
Oh but she is so versatile and she just loves being dressed up and I'm sure that one day soon she is going to open up and have a rip roaring giggle and show us her pearly whites.  Well she has to if she wants to be in my gang cos laughing is good for the soul :D

I'm not the only one who loves my new distress inks... Mona does too (she told me so...lol)

She also loves her hat and being surrounded by flowers... cool gal Mona is.
Collaged images are from Lisa's altered art.
Have a great day

Manic... Manic... Manic...

few days I've had ... with my Grandson, Sister and two nieces staying with me.  Don't know where the time goes but my poor blog has suffered...lol  So all by myself once again which gives me the chance to do some crafting and catch up with you all.
One of my favourite actresses of all time is Audrey Hepburn... she is so elegant and thanks to a gorgeous image from Narry at Etsy she now has pride of place on an easel in my room :D

I added more colour to the already beautiful image with distress inks and put on some half pearls cos I love things to be touchy feely.

I also gave her a butterfly in her hair and decoupaged the bird with it's crown cos I also love 3d bits and pieces... like you don't know that right :D

I was a very lucky girl to win Patty's fabulous giveaway from her guest spot on the Artist trading club blog and oh what a delightful array of goodies she sent me (see below).  Thank you sooooo much Patty xx

I also received this gorgeous brooch as a RAK from Rosie... isn't it just so lovely.  Thank you Rosie... you made my day xx

Blogging buddies are just THE BEST!!

It's my party....

and I'll cry if I want to.... well I almost did this morning when I thought my laptop had crashed.... thankfully my luvvly pal Chriss got me some much needed advice from her clever son so whooohoooo here I am.  Why do computers rule our lives so much eh :D
Today's artybit is another using stamps and parts of stamps from Crafty Individuals
.

I used my much loved Distress inks once again with stazon for the main image.  I took a close up to show that my lady is 3d but unfortunately it doesn't show up too well.

Now here's your little bit of fun for the day!!  I thought I had well and truly seen the last of these legs rofl but buddy Chriss (luv ya really doll) decided to announce to the world that I am once again a year near the half century... having a Birthday today....aaaaargh

Who knows before long my legs may begin to look like that for real... and oh boy when I begin carrying my handbag like that.... well what can I say...lol

Thanks for popping by

You gotta be in it...to win it :D

The template challenge that is... (click on the link to the right).  I've been really lucky lately cos I've won 3 bloggy prizes in the space of three weeks...whooohooo how cool is that... me who never wins anything usually.  So I decided I should give something back... good karma and all that.
So if you enter my little challenge (you've got 2 weeks to do it in) You can win these exclusive stamps designed by moi. (The largest one is approx 5"x3.5") I designed them years ago and did nothing with them so I am gonna share them with you.  They aren't available anywhere else so you will be the only one to have them...cool eh :D
So on to the template challenge and here are a few examples of how you can use them.

I created a fairytale castle with the help of stamps from Crafty Individuals.
A frame picture of Frida Kahlo with a background stamped with part of a flourish from The Artistic Stamper.

The lovely picture was a freebie from Altered bits.com and the little stamp I used inside the windows and doors is a Basicgrey one I think.

Frida can shut the doors on those prying eyes when she feels like a rest...lol
Finally I created an atc with the smaller template using the same flourish stamp as the frame background with distress inks.
I hope that I have inspired you and that you will join in with the challenge.
See you soon

London lady atc

Well I'm having a fab time at Chriss' ..fab company...great food and LOTS of crafting but very little sleep. We didn't go to bed at all last night... I finally gave in at 9.30am this morning and had to go for some shut eye and got about 5 hrs lol. , Chriss is going for the marathon cos she is still going strong even if her eyes look like little slits in her face....bless :D
We've made LOADS of stuff... played like kids in nursery school and laughed and skitted each other mercilessly... that's what friends are for eh.
Can't show you what I've made yet... will reveal all over the next few days... but here is one I did earlier, always have summat tucked away. I love these fab stamps from Tanda Stamps and this gorgeous background paper which is from Crafty Individuals totally yummy.
Ok gotta go cos my Tim Holtz goodies are screaming to be played with and I am so loving getting messy... you should see the colours of my fingers...rofl

See you soon

'Smile' journal page and ATC SWAP

Ok I'm officially an addict of this wacky style... I can't seem to put my art journal down ...to the detriment of everything else. My head is fit to burst with all the things jumping about waiting to be put onto a page and I'm afraid to say that some of the pages I have done (and had sleepless nights over cos I can't stop) have me a little concerned...lol Hey artistic licence is about doing what feels right eh... but I think my GP may consider putting me in a white coat if he were to see some of my designs. I will let you make your own mind up over the next few weeks but prepare for an onslaught :D Hope this one makes YOU smile!!I thought I'd share with you the four other zetti style atc's I did and some others I completed too. ATC challenge- zetti

The lovely and ever so talented Hermine is this months guest artist for the Artist Trading Club and she has chosen Zetti as the theme for our atc challenge. Loving it...loving it.... loving it!!! Thank you Hermine :D
My mojo seems to have returned big style just in time it seems. Well actually it's gone into overdrive cos even though we're only supposed to do 5 atc's keeping one ourselves and sending the other 4 for swaps.... I did 9 rofl.
Actually did some stamping...
and doodling.... some collage...
and some watercolour backgrounds too as a home to my luscious ladies...lol
I would never have been brave enough to have been a Goth but doing a Gothic atc was such a lotta fun.
If you'd like to join in with the challenge and receive some fabulous swaps you still have time as the challenge is open until the end of the month. Check out the links in the comments section on this post on the Artist Trading Club blog to see some amazing artwork and to see what you could receive in your swap.
Happy Crafting

Sewing ATC

I came across this picture yesterday of one of the atc's I did on a sewing theme for The Artist Trading Club. The background was handmade felt... my first attempt at wet felting (cool and so much fun to do ) I added chain stitch for extra decoration. The main image from lisa's altered art was added by printing onto t-shirt transfer fabric before ironing it on to the background. The only kind of ironing that I like to do...lol
I've been in a much better mood the last few days and I'm heaving great sighs of relief... the black dog seems to have been put in his place and has gone into hiding. I've been experimenting with some altered art...doing some sketches and painting and trying to find a style of my own. I love how you can recognise some peoples artwork and creating straight away, just by the style they have, but because I'm jack of all trades and master of none in my crafting I seem to flit around like a butterfly all of a flutter going from one thing to another without settling into a niche of my own. I do like to experiment as it's half the fun but I really want something I can go back to time and time again which lets out what's inside and gives me a head start. I feel that once I find my 'style' then I will have a starting block and I think you will see lots of journalling pages and altered art on my blog in the future. Wish me luck :D

Halloween fun

I love to doodle and I was in need of some fun me time... so for the first time in ages I've had a play, I scanned a doodle and used photoshop to colour it and with the help of the new Halloween images from Lisa's altered art I had me a hoot. How cool are these babies...lol I did me a couple of atc's too using sections of the doodle
and these little cuties just blow me away. Can just imagine the mischief they could get up too eh :D
Thought you might like a play too so if you like you can grab the doodle sheet below... click to enlarge then right click and save and then you can print it out on an A4 sheet. Each piece is 5"x7" so can be cut into four for atc's or left the size you see. Have fun :D

Artygirlz challenge #70... make an atc... and tagged

This weeks Artygirlz challenge is to make an atc and I chose to mount mine onto this tin I bought... meant to be a cigarette tin I think but it is just the right size to keep all of my 'ready to do' atc cards in and keep them all handy in one place. Stamps are from The Artistic Stamper and The Queens Dresser Drawers.

This is the inside of my tin and it's fab cos it has these little arms to keep my atc's from spilling out before I need them too :D

Speaking of ATC's I think I have now got a serious contender for ATC maker of the week... these ones below were made by DG on a recent visit and I promised to put them on my blog for him.
I was struggling with my mojo so took ages to make even one... to keep DG busy while I did mine, I gave him some pieces of card and some stickers and he had a fab time and made me howl with laughter when he asked me how many I had done... oh says I... "I haven't finished my first one yet!!" He looked at me in sheer surprise and said " What's the matter with you Nanna... just do them... I've done.... wait for it.... 25!! lol I guess next time I will take lessons from HIM eh. Okay I have been tagged again... this time by the lovely talented Sesga

The rules being you show the fourth picture from the fourth file on your computer

Well this is mine taken a mere 8yrs ago with my favourite little man when he was almost a year old and blimey how much I've changed in that short time... my hair has turned white... I can't see close up without my specs and I've put on about 5 stone in weight...aaaaargh (mind you I'm working on that one and so far have lost almost a stone this month....whooohooo). Not touched a piece of choccy since the beginning of Jan!! How good am I :D Hopefully by the summer I will be able to get back into some of my snazzy clothes instead of living in joggers and t-shirts... oh to look glam for just one day without bumps and bulges protruding from every part of me...lol

Ok girlies I tag you.... Mimi, Judy, Gez, Karen, Kim and Dawn (Scrapnmo)
Show us you piccies :D
Have a fab evening all
hugs
