MY NEW ART BLOG HERE I would love your company.

A New Year and a New beginning... I have created a new blog filled with old and new art. It is time for me to focus on something new. I will be leaving this blog open for inspiration and so I can look back at what I have achieved in the future but I will be adding no further content here.

Willow Sketchie Challenges

Well I'm sharing two cards with you for the Willow Sketchie Challenges cos I didn't manage to upload the last one in time. This weeks challenge is first :D
Just in time for Mothers' Day I used this weeks sketchie for my Mams' card and it's just as well she doesn't read my blog cos I used a photo of her when she was little on the front ( I don't even think she knows that I've got it...lol)
Along with the sketch the challenge was to use embossing somewhere on your card and I used a strip of dotty cuttlebugged card across the middle and the circles beneath the flowers are embossed too but not very visible I'm afraid... you just have to take my word for it :D
The papers on this card are from Willow Designs Floral collection cd. I added some big blooms... paper punched flowers and some gorgeous pearl hearts and a strip of paper lace made with a Fiskars border punch.
The previous challenge was to use dots and stripes along with another sketchie and this time I used papers from Willow Designs Occasions Collection cd. The 'For you' fairy looks right a home there doesn't she?

I added a piece of ribbon under the sentiment and a hand cut dotty flower under my prima flower to bring everything together.
The little green circles are 'toffee treats' from Craftwork cards... yummy.
Have a great weekend all :D

Willow Sketchie and tagged

Well it's been a busy busy week for me hence not much blogging but the good news is my mojo seems to have returned big style...whoooo hoooo even did me some scrap booking which I will share with you later :D I managed to get my card done for Sharon's Willow Sketchie just before another one comes out tomorrow. I turned the sketch around cos it suited me better this way and for a change did a card suitable for a man... helped along by my new Basic grey goodies which I am loving. The instructions were to do a simple card but with a hidden message....
so I'm all ready for someone passing their driving test... cos we all know that men always pass first time round don't we ladies...rofl
I was tagged by Sharon too... to look in the 6th folder on my computer where I keep my pics and share the 6th photo in it with my blogging buddies and then tag some of you to do the same. Thankfully my photo wasn't one of me in a bikini (wipes the wet brow sheeeesh) but it is one of my sis in her swimming cozzy... thing is you can't see it cos I chopped her body off...rofl Just as well cos she'd kill me for exposing her online ;-)
It was taken on holiday at Primrose Valley in their fab swimming pool and as I don't do water!! I was quite happy to sit in the cafe watching and taking photos... loved this contraption that filled up and when someone turned a wheel the unsuspecting person underneath got the lot from all directions.
Ok so I tag :-

Now then before I go I wanted to share with you that June has got some fab freebies up for grabs this week over at Cen's loft.... lots of digi papers called colour basics. Brilliant for those of you who do digi and just as fab for those who do hands on crafting.
They are gorgeous printed out in 8"x8" size to use in your papercrafting and cardmaking... I'm off to grab mine cos there are lots more to come.... last girl there is a rotten egg :D Okay that's it for me right now but I will be back tomorrow with some looooong overdue awards.... I really do appreciate each and every one I receive but I am notoriously bad at passing them on (blushingly hangs head in shame)
So 'till tomorrow
Have fun

Willow Sketchie and Artygirlz (favourite medium) challenges

I combined two challenges for my card today, Willow's sketchie challenge which I haven't managed to join in with for a few weeks and this weeks Artygirlz challenge which is 'favourite medium'. So just before I drown you in Christmas pics I thought I would share this with you and give you a break(would share the kit-kats with you too but I've eaten them all...lol)
I rotated the sketch because I found it fit better with what I had in mind to do, but that's the beauty of sketches to me... a starting block to get the mojo going and a lot of fun too.
My favourite medium... well I don't need to tell ya really do I... 'BLING A LING A LING' doesn't get missed off a lot of what I create does it :D I am really loving curling the edges of my papers and shapes too, though on this card I stopped with the shapes.
More of my favourite things with chipboard, ribbon and Silhouettes just had me in a happy place making this card and the reverse silhouettes from Cen's Crafty bits are some of my favourites... really cool and printed out on A6 photo paper they are just the perfect size to use with a circle punch..whooohooo easy peasy.... and my ribbon box is getting some hammer lately too... d'ya think I'm over my addiction to stroking and stashing it...lol
Ok just before I go I have to say a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our well talented blogging buddy Kath who has recently won Simply Cards and Papercrafts magazine Card Designer of the year Competition 2008... really well deserved too as Kath's creations are stunning in every way. If you haven't paid her blog a visit... what are you waiting for :D
Kath is also having some blog candy giveaways in the lead up to Christmas... so pop by and say hello... I know she would be happy for you to.
Okay that's it for me tonight... am shattered after DG visit this weekend, 8yr olds have sooooooo much energy and I'm as sure as God made little green apples that DG runs on Everready (sp)batteries!!
See you soon

Willow sketchie challenge

Today's card is one I made for the first Willow sketchie challenge There will be a new challenge sketch every Thursday... I'm a bit late with this one as the new challenge will be up today but better late than never eh :D
I turned things around a bit from the sketch because I wanted to add a flower under my brad and I also used lace instead of ribbon but I think sketches always give you a head start in whatever you are creating so I love them.
The main image is from Crafty Individuals stamped in black and coloured with felt pens (cos I don't have any alcohol inks yet boo hoo) and the papers are a freebie from here...

the sentiment is a rubbon and finally I added it to my with my twisted wire.
Thanks for looking everyone and have a fab day.
