MY NEW ART BLOG HERE I would love your company.

A New Year and a New beginning... I have created a new blog filled with old and new art. It is time for me to focus on something new. I will be leaving this blog open for inspiration and so I can look back at what I have achieved in the future but I will be adding no further content here.

Fathers Day Frame

I always struggle with gifts for my Dad as he gives no clues and what do you get the man who has everything... so this year I decided to create a frame for him on the theme of his addiction.  That addiction is CLOCKS.  I don't think I have ever known a man who has to buy a clock everywhere he goes.  If it's a bargain...then he's even happier... and if it sings, dances, displays the weather and has a radio too... he's like a boy with a new toy...lol

So this clock may not work... but it was made with love :D

He doesn't resemble the man in my frame.... but Father 'Time' is a fitting title for him...lol

I used number and letter stamps from Fiskars for the title and numerals.  The man and clock stamps are Crafty Individuals.

I love this little compartment frame...also from Crafty Individuals... my stamped images fit so well in there and the chipboard clock hands that I found in my stash came in really handy...pardon the pun.

The frame was a white one from Ikea... which I sanded slightly before adding distress inks and distress crackle.

Hope he likes it :D

Willow Sketchie Challenges

Well I'm sharing two cards with you for the Willow Sketchie Challenges cos I didn't manage to upload the last one in time. This weeks challenge is first :D
Just in time for Mothers' Day I used this weeks sketchie for my Mams' card and it's just as well she doesn't read my blog cos I used a photo of her when she was little on the front ( I don't even think she knows that I've got it...lol)
Along with the sketch the challenge was to use embossing somewhere on your card and I used a strip of dotty cuttlebugged card across the middle and the circles beneath the flowers are embossed too but not very visible I'm afraid... you just have to take my word for it :D
The papers on this card are from Willow Designs Floral collection cd. I added some big blooms... paper punched flowers and some gorgeous pearl hearts and a strip of paper lace made with a Fiskars border punch.
The previous challenge was to use dots and stripes along with another sketchie and this time I used papers from Willow Designs Occasions Collection cd. The 'For you' fairy looks right a home there doesn't she?

I added a piece of ribbon under the sentiment and a hand cut dotty flower under my prima flower to bring everything together.
The little green circles are 'toffee treats' from Craftwork cards... yummy.
Have a great weekend all :D

ICSketches#3

Hi all... my apologies first of all for not managing to visit you all over the weekend as I had hoped to do... unfortunately sometimes life gets in the way and at the moment I have some 'stuff' going on and I have decided that it would be better if I take a break from blogging for a couple of weeks until I manage to sort everything out.

So that in mind this will be my last 'proper' post for a while... although I have sorted out some digi freebie kits and some mini card making kits for you to download if you want them and have postdated the posts so there will still be a few goodies for you to see and grab while I am away :D

Before I disappear I wanted to share this with you though.... I should have put it up last week but well...it just didn't happen. This was my card for Dawn's ICSketch#3 challenge there is another sketch up now so if you love sketches pop over and see all the gorgeous DT cards for some inspiration and maybe join in yourself.
Once again the paper and stamps I used are by Crafty Individuals I love this pretty lady 'with love' stamp and you just know I adore wings.
I created her 'tiara' with a corner stamp... cut out and mounted on a 3d pad with a little bit of bling added too and paper pieced her dress and wings.

The purple border is an elegant lace effect stamp and the bottom edging was created with a Fiskars border punch.
Thanks for looking and for continuing to visit and leaving me your lovely comments. I will be back as soon as I can and will look forward to it.
HUGE HUGS
