A New Year and a New beginning... I have created a new blog filled with old and new art. It is time for me to focus on something new. I will be leaving this blog open for inspiration and so I can look back at what I have achieved in the future but I will be adding no further content here.

Flower mask card

I don't seem to have made a card for ages so I thought I'd rectify that using one on the new masks from Tando Creative.  I love this floral one and used a brush to apply the pink acrylic paint to a spare piece of card which I then cut down to fit the front of an A6 card .

I love cards that are tactile as well as pretty so I placed adhesive half pearls in the centre of each flower.  Quick and simple and fun to make.

Thanks for looking

Once upon a time Twinchie

I much prefer making twinchies as opposed to inchie... simply cos I can fit more on them and they aren't as fiddly for my fat fingers.  The alcohol inks came out for the background....

and then I added a bit of magic with the toadstool fairy and flowers from Lisa's altered art.
Simples :D

Three for the price of one.....

challenges that is :D  I used my pretty lady from below to make a card that fits with The Daring Cardmakers Challenge which is ' Ice and Snow' and  The Shabby Tea Room Challenge  using 'stripes'. I'm also joining in with Gingersnap Creations Challenge for the first time with their 'Shades of Blue'.

I made a round card for a change which reminds me of  a snowball...lol  but also used cold colours to fit in with DCM theme.   There are lots of hand drawn stripes for TSTR theme... I am so into sketching and colouring right now so this was fun.

I drew lots of funny shaped flowers and leaves and coloured those and the striped border with my blue Sakura Glaze pen.  I love these pens because they give a gorgeous shiny embossed look.

Unfortunately this wasn't really picked up well with my photos but I can assure you that the blue bits really shine and glisten.  I used 3d pads under my flowers and the main image cos I love things to be 3d.  It's a long time since I spent this long on a card but it was really therapeutic.  Think I need to be sketching and colouring a lot more :D

Thanks for looking and don't forget you can get your own glam girlie free from the post below.

p.s. my lovely pal Chriss sugested I have a little comp to name this pretty lady.... so if you'd like to choose a name and leave a comment.... the winner will receive a signed framed print of the original illustration in a colour of their choice :D

Summer Sandal

I made a Sandal for this weeks Shabby Tearoom Challenge which is Summer fun.  Well we all need some pretty sandals for that walk on the beach.  Someday soon we are going to have a heatwave...I can feel it in my bones...lol.  Well that's if it ever stops raining here that it!!

I used one tiny flower stamp from Crafty Individuals.... stamped lots of times and watercoloured with Distress inks to decorate the sandal.  Actually I think I would quite like to wear this if it was real :D

Thanks for looking
Have a great day

Friends wall hanger

Well when I'm on a roll... I'm on a roll...and crafty things coming thick and fast at the mo... mojo is in full swing for a change :D

I made this wall  hanger after I found a paper frame that I made from folded squares of some Basicgrey paper which I coated with mod podge a while ago...

I added text flowers and used woven sentiment ribbon to hang it.

I love these coloured half Pearl so added them to the centres of the flowers on the stamped image cos I love things to be touchy feely :D

The fairy and background stamps are once again by Crafty Individuals... I stamped with stazon and coloured with Distress Inks.

I added some little rolls of paper coated with mod podge to the bottom corner and then hung this gorgeous sentiment (sorry don't know who's stamp it is) from the main frame to finish off.

Have a great weekend

Altered mirror

I've had this mirror from Ikea for ages and it has been begging to be altered so while at my last playtime with my buddy Chriss I began to cut out shapes and stamped  to my hearts content... ready to add them to my mirror.  It turned out much better than I expected... more for my art wall :D

I played with stamps from Crafty Individuals... I used glossy accents on the faces...

I played with  lots of distress ink and made flowers from distress coloured print paper covered in modpodge with altered german scrap for the centres.

Some pieces of my card were put through cuttlebug folders before adding my ink and the butterfly and some other areas were given the rock candy stickles treatment.

I added sticky ribbon round the outside of the frame which had half pearls attached so gave my butterflies pearl  antenae too.

Here the Mammy butterfly is looking after the baby one... ;- )

To finish off I added a large butterfly topped flower which has rock candy stickles on too.... love me shiny bits and the chain is a found bit off a little chipboard book.

Hope you enjoyed looking and that the post wasn't too picture heavy for ya.

Willow Sketchie Challenges

Well I'm sharing two cards with you for the Willow Sketchie Challenges cos I didn't manage to upload the last one in time. This weeks challenge is first :D
Just in time for Mothers' Day I used this weeks sketchie for my Mams' card and it's just as well she doesn't read my blog cos I used a photo of her when she was little on the front ( I don't even think she knows that I've got it...lol)
Along with the sketch the challenge was to use embossing somewhere on your card and I used a strip of dotty cuttlebugged card across the middle and the circles beneath the flowers are embossed too but not very visible I'm afraid... you just have to take my word for it :D
The papers on this card are from Willow Designs Floral collection cd. I added some big blooms... paper punched flowers and some gorgeous pearl hearts and a strip of paper lace made with a Fiskars border punch.
The previous challenge was to use dots and stripes along with another sketchie and this time I used papers from Willow Designs Occasions Collection cd. The 'For you' fairy looks right a home there doesn't she?

I added a piece of ribbon under the sentiment and a hand cut dotty flower under my prima flower to bring everything together.
The little green circles are 'toffee treats' from Craftwork cards... yummy.
Have a great weekend all :D

ICSketches #6 and #7

Well I got my head together last night and had a fab crafting session... cor what a mess I made though!! Wanted to catch up on a few challenges but blimey you'd think someone had gone through my room with a bulldozer this morning (couldn't be bothered to tidy up when I finished... that can ALWAYS wait till another day...lol) I always seem to want to use something that is in a bag... in a box... in a cupboard or drawer somewhere and I make more mess looking for it by the time I've pulled everything out than I actually do when I'm making something. Bet I'm not the only one either eh... come on own up... you all do it right :D

So anyway this is my card for this weeks ICSketch #7 followed by last weeks Sketch#6 cos I didn't manage to show it when I should've so thought I'd share them both together in this post.

On this card I used BasicGrey papers and stamp. This is one of my all time favourite stamps...just love it!! I have a confession to make though... the lace.... I think it was meant to be used for lingerie... you know Knicker elastic... but what the heck... you wouldn't have known if I didn't tell ya right. Just can't keep my big mouth shut rofl.
My cute little girly image is from Lisa's altered art and while I was struggling wif me stash I came across this crown which I got from Karen at Scrapz and I neeeeeeded to use it... little bit big for her little head but she wears it well :D
Had to add me little bits of 'bling' and a bit of ribbon with a ribbon slider to finish it off.

This is my card for last weeks sketch ... bit of tearing going on with this one, edged with felt tip pen... which I also used to colour in my image, ribbon and flowers. Honestly the humble felt tip is just sooooooo under rated AND cheap as chips :D If you buy white ribbon, and flowers you can alter them to co-ordinate with all of your other bits and pieces as quick as you like.
The papers used are from Funkyfairys papercrafts 'in with the old' I just love these colours.
The image I used was a freebie from Funkyfairies blogtrain giveaway that I grabbed a little while ago. I was sooooo patient too cutting round all of the leaves and branches... really need to get me some better glasses or some fine point scissors though cos it took me ages.
ooooooh did you see that..... more 'bliiiiing' rofl. I seem to stick it on just about everything don't I. Finally a few layered blooms and Bob's yer Uncle.... all done :D
Need a cup of coffee now after all that.... drink about a hundred cups when I'm making my bits and pieces and I'm suffering withdrawal now.... bring on the caffeine!!
ooooooh yes and before I forget to tell ya.... I'm well excited cos I've been featured on Inspirational.... yeeehaaa.... I love Inspirational :D

Snow!! and Artygirlz challenge#72-flowers

It came and it went... leaving behind mucky slush....uuuurgh So pretty to look at... could have been Christmas all over again ('cept there was no turkey dinner or bonny coloured pressies to open) ...
and just look at my baby shivering out there in the cold :D This was the reason for no shopping... no way was I cleaning all that away and this was just after an hour... those flakes were enormous!!
Didn't seem to be deterring our feathered friends though... they seemed to be delighted to perch on top of the trees... don't they look cute.

So this morning all is well with the world... sun is shining... body has fought off the bugs and I'm looking forward to spending the weekend with DG... he totally puts the L in Love for me. Can't wait to give him a big squishy cuddle and steal a few kisses (do have to steal them though...cos it's not cool to give away kisses at his age!!...lol)
So onto this weeks Artygirlz challenge which is flowers. I was asked by my Sister to decorate a blackboard (similar to one I've done before for my other Sister's 40th)... as a gift for her friend at work.
I painted the blackboard and mounted it on paper covered board before adding the decoration.

I did a digital doll of my Sister's friend with a photo she sent me (butterfly for anonymity)... then paper pieced the skirt before mounting it all on card and cutting out.
Flowers came next... crumpled paper ones and prima flowers with buttons and bling...

then a ribbon hanger and some lettering... all papers are Heidi Grace. The blackboard came with a box of chalks and an eraser so of course I had to decorate those too...

just using some more paper with a few hearts and hand cut small letters.
Ok folks that's it for today... phew you glad to get to the end...lol
Hope to get round to visit you all over the weekend now that I'm feeling better... till then have a fab weekend and hope the sun is shining where you are :D

Altered notebook

Well I had intended to show you something completely different today but my camera isn't playing!! One of my minor gripes today.... first one being parking.... aaaaaargh. I take DG once a fortnight to pay his pocket money into the bank (see I can be a serious Nanna sometimes...trying to convince him that saving IS a good thing)... so this takes me all of FIVE minutes to go in and make a deposit with him. I always have my £1.20 'daylight robbery cash' for parking money ready but today having NO extra change I was hopping about like a mad frog when I realized it had gone up to £1.40 !! So rather than risk a £20 fine for not displaying my ticket and only having a tenner I had to drive out of the car park to go in hunt for change. Stopped at a shop to be told I would have to spend something so they could open the till to give me some change!! So a packet of chewing gum later I returned to park the car... only for the parking meter to swallow my first pound without registering... so now my parking cost me £2.40 cos there was no-one around to give me a refund... though I bet if I had left the car in a bay and gone change hunting, there would have been a trillion parking attendants there with their little book of tickets ready to slap one on my windscreen...bah!! Next trip was to Tesco who have refurbished their store but forgot to change the signs.... as if it wasn't hard enough to find anything now, goes down the signposted aisle to pick up some soup... and yes you've guessed it no soup...lol So I thought no way am I going to wander round here for an hour for the sake of a tin of Heinz... no matter how delish it is, so I asked an assistant where to find it. The answer.... "oh didn't you know it's up by the crisps now"? Well Hello... yes of course I know that which is why I have a trolley load of soup cans!! and on top of that I'm wandering round like a headless chicken...lol
Some days home seems so undervalued but boy was I pleased to come back through my own front door and put all of the little annoyances behind me... well apart from blurting them out on my blog to you that is...lol
Anyway this is a notebook I covered a few weeks ago... and forgot to show you... (a Tesco's one no less...lol) I wanted to play flower making again and it is kinda taking over my life right now... haven't got much to put them on but can't stop putting them together :)
The papers and twill ribbon are from Cosmo Cricket ' Haunted' kit and I just adore this paper especially...
I just think the distressed edges are totally scrummy. Colours in the photos look a wee bit different but I assure you it IS all the same book.

This is the completed thing... the cheap as chips notebook also had an elastic wrap to keep it closed which I think finishes it off nicely and which I have to say inspired my use of paper and embellishments too.

Hope you like it... and forgive me for waffling so much... a girls just gotta do what a girls gotta do and it was just one of those days :) I'm a happy bunny now though and it's almost time for X Factor so I am off to watch a little bit of telly for a change.
Hope you are all having a great weekend.

Gothic Arch Challenge

The Gothic Arch challenge this week has an open theme so I decided to enter this arch that I have experimented on. The image is from Crafty individuals and I added Papermania fabric flowers. I have been itching to do some writing on something and though it's not the neatest writing I've ever done (I will learn to pencil it in first next time to make sure it fits...lol) I really enjoyed playing as usual.
I used tiny seed beeds and Anita's clear gloss for the centre of the flowers...
because although I didn't have any bling on my arch I had to have some sparkle :) I used some ribbon too... big deal for me...lol

Thanks for looking
